So we got a few inches of snow here in scappoose oregon today and my mom needed to take my brother to the orthodontist. of course she asks to take my jeep because her mustang or chrystler 300 probably wouldnt do to great in the snow, both being rear wheel drive. After insisting that my jeep isnt an on road vehice and shouldnt be driven in 4 hi at moderate speed she still takes it. (my rig is spooled rear and locked front) Upon her return she tells me that she was driving and a horrible crnching sound came from underneath the jeep(transfer case area) and then it came out of 4 wheel drive and would not go back in. I havent been able to check things out yet but im really hoping my 4:1 low or sye isnt screwed up as that would be a spendy fix. anyone else have probems with the wife, girlfriend or mom driving our prized jeeps on road or for other purposes than designed for? i just wanted to share my story and get it of my chest...

Jeeps were meant to be driven on the road too! :D

You might get lucky and it just broke a shifter linkage or something!

Yeah that is a plus, i guess! :D Its always fun tearing stuff apart until you find whats waiting inside for you!

ya thats true, i have come to realize that what you expect to be a quick 1 hour job normaly turns into a strung out long ordeal that leaves you tired greasy and with a once again empty wallet

Yeah thats how its been for me trying to put my BB on. Get the rear done in 2 hours but its taken 4 hours to get the track bar bushing out and replaced. Still haven't got my spacers on yet!

Luckily my wife and stepkids know I would become a raging homicidal maniac if they took my jeep anyplace, and the one time my wife did drive it, it scared her so bad she pretty much refuses to get in it now....hehheh......

I don't think my mom would get in my jeep, and I am pretty sure I would not let her drive it even if she wanted to. Its bad enough when I let the wife drive it.

My mom wont drive my jeep... She has her own.
