The trail starts near Loon Lake in the Sierras not far from Pollock Pines, which is east of Sacramento, and goes to Lake Tahoe ending on the west side of lake in about the middle.
The general consensus is that it runs from west to east but people do it both ways. Some people leave their tow rigs in Pollock Pines and return down Hwy 50 to ride home.
You should check out the Eldorado National Forest website and spend the $6 for the map of the forest...lots of good info there. You might also want to chat with the guys in the
Sierra chapter. Having a local on the run could make the critical difference in the fun factor.
