Mechanic says noise from D35 rear end = locker going bad? ...Opinions?

Keep your eyes open around here, they do show up occasionally. $300 seems to be a bit steep, though.

BTW, for junkyard searchs, start at http://www.car-part.com.

I sold my 99 8.25 with 140K on it for $75 after picking up a rebuilt 8.25 with a locker in it for $450. Grimmjeeper in the socal for sale section has one that needs a rebuild for $50.

What I would do with your d35 is drain it, pull the cover and look for shrapnel and refill it after you're done cleaning it out.
