Maybe moving from utah to the area.

I have been visiting Utah since 1999 and after spending the past two weeks in Moab for the Fall Fling; I am seriously considering purchasing a small piece of property and a motorhome to move out of CA.
The cost of living in CA is rediculous, the recent increase in gasoline prices is outrageous and the liberals are out of control.
All I have to say is...... "DONT DO IT".....
You will be moving back to Utah within a couple years......

Charles

I love California and don't want to live anywhere else. I like not having and real winter and being able to play outside pretty much year round. I have great mountain biking and off roading areas just minutes from my house and lots more within easy driving distance. And thanks to the liberal politics here I make significantly more as a high school teacher here than I would in any of the neighboring states.

I'm staying. Enjoying my state.

:wstupid: bunch of cry babies.

so cal is nice. its bad all over though not just here. if you have a.s.e. certs job wont be a problem. thanks for the plug scott!

The mentality of not wanting to live in a place because the beer is week totally makes me understand why California is in the shape that it is.

You should get your facts straight too.

Also the beer from a tap in a bar is the same beer as everywhere else. Those who say that Utah bars aren't serving what anyone else is, is just full of crap.

I learned real quick what a "Sidecar" was during a layover at SLC.

yes, because i'd have to be trashed to have 7 wives... i can barely handle one! :tears:

Uinta's labyrinth black will take care of that right quick. Best beer I've had... Good thing they serve it in normal places like Cali and vegas

You can take my place in SoCal. We are relocating to PNW the beginning of next year. I used to love SoCal but I am over it and need to get out.

As for wheeling there are tons of places close to Temecula:

Ocotillo Wells
Truck Haven
Superstition
Coral Canyon
Big Bear
The list goes on...

The SoCal NAXJA chapter has a lot of cool people.

Oh, and maybe gas wont be $5.00/gal when you get here.

Matt

Don't forget
Calico
Panamint
Red Cyn/Goler
Rubicon

Don't forget we'll be paying your retirement too so I'd be a little more respectful and appreciative because every one else that is self employed or in the private sector has to arrange for their own retirment not have it handed to them! I'm not saying you didn't earn it but don't tell those they have to pay for it when they'll be eating cup o soup! If you haven't noticed that the reason why so many want out of Calif. and the states in debt over their 10 gallon hat. We can't pay now for the ones retiring tomorrow what's it going to be like for your kids if you care. I wouldn't be rubbing it in their noses because a storm is coming, it is unsustainable and if you are a teacher you'd be smart enough to see it's not sustainable. Facts are facts and your opinion does not get it done! I work for a school district also but I'm smart enough to understand economics and care about the students and fellow teachers as well. Unions built California and are now destroying it! But that's for the political forum so that's all I have to say.

Does the state put a limit on having a sense of humor too?

To you it may be a joke but I hear this all the time from people who aren't joking. Just like the whole seven wives thing. People honestly think that's what it's like here. It just goes to show how ignorant and stupid people can be about things they don't understand.

Ryan, the same point you just made can be said of what most of the rest of the US thinks of CA ;)

i'd love to leave CA, but I can't. yes the job market here sucks, but the wife and I are in a niche that just won't pay the bills anywhere else.

for anyone looking to move to CA... sorry, we're full. try AZ or NV, save yourself some $ and have the option to visit us whenever you want ;)

^^ If we were playing family feud and they asked the question "What are the top three stereotypes for Utah." I think it would have been a clean sweep. But all wrong... lolz

I love Utah nothing like going 30 minutes in any direction and hit a canyon go fishing, hiking, camping. Only thing wrong with utah beer is you are just fat and bloated by the time you get drunk. Just drink liquor. I Agree with you DrMoab Utah is a great place to live... but in contrast I have always thought, what does Utah not offer? (besides real beer)

Ditto and if you can make room for me cause I'm coming as soon as the house market goes back up and I can sell my house that I built and get the 1.2 I could have sold it for when the market was good. Unfortunetly I hadn't finished it. I'd settle for 900k now if I could get it. Maybe you and your wife would be interested. Seriously I can PM you the particulars on the size and land. I'm 20 miles from Temecula 45 to 55 miles from LA, 35 from No. County S.D. 40 to 45 from Newport Beach one hour from Big Bear mountains. 4 wheeling, surfing and snow boarding exactly one hour from my door step!

who cares? if it keeps those people out, then be happy and quit bitching about it. i don't really get your need to come in here and tell us how crappy our state is and how awesome yours is. You have your own chapter for that.
