Man, I want to buy this Jeep

Same EXACT thing happened to me coming back from meeting Victor S and Bandit455 down in PA, actually. I had a trailer full of 32s, was towing WELL beyond the speed I should have been, and got off the highway... instant smoke screen. Bottom of the pan was soaked, it was going all over my exhaust. It wasn't slipping that time, but it did that a week or two before I headed down, right as I got off the highway. I pretty much plan on getting a new transmission at some point, though I did a fluid change a while ago and it is doing better (slipped again recently though so I'll probably drain+fill again.)

Thats exactly what mine did on the way home from NAC fest. It was the front pump seal, I already replaced it once. I was able to pick up a used tranny for 200.00 been fine since(knock on wood)

I know the feeling, But I just keep buying them.:firedevil

good luck.

Gah, I know the feeling. I only have one but that will change as soon as I move out of the parents house into a house of my own. Hopefully early next year. Then I want a Commanche to build just to have a capable truck (32"x11.50s, 3.73s or 4.10s, on 3.5" lift... pretty much where my Jeep is right now, just regeared :D)

It looks like I bought an XJ from a local guy. It's nothing fancy, but it runs strong and doesn't have a spot of rust.

I'm picking it up tomorrow night.

Rust free Jeeps make me mad... that I dont have one.

Though mine will be rust free sooner than later. Driver's side should be rust free for the most part by next weekend. Passenger side shoudl be done next wkend, or the week after. Rear hatch area.... lets not talk about that

How long before MrSimons now "daily driver" gets a real quick 4 inch bastard lift and 32's? Oh..wait, that's what I did..Oh baby!! I give him by January he will have a post out here for.."hey, what springs did you guys use for building your own leaf packs"..Ah, and the sickness lives on..Long live the obsession!!!:scottm:
