Man, I want to buy this Jeep

that sure is purdy. is anyone else amused at how you could make a stop-motion animation with all of those pictures?
That's what I was thinking, "I could make an XJ flipbook with these!"

Some underhood/drivetrain/undercarriage shots would have been great though.

Jeep guys crack me up ....

Everything we buy is basically a beater .... seriously, raise your hand if you've ever fixed rusty floorboards. I know I have.

But I post a picture of one of the cleanest XJs we've ever seen, and its all "I don't know man, you better make sure you can eat off the undercarriage"

Its a $3,500, 11 year old, 125k vehicle for crying out loud .... some rusty brake lines should be expected:jester:

PS - If anyone wants to cart me down to DE tomorrow .... not only will I pay for gas and buy you lunch .... but I'll even sing to you the whole way down.

I'm not saying not to buy it because of that, I'm saying to notice it and use it as leverage to get the price lowered :D

Brake lines are a walk in the park, I just don't want to see you run that beautiful clean sheetmetal into a guardrail like I did.

As for floorboards, who said anything about fixing them? :eyes: I'm probably going to let this winter eat on mine, then fix them next summer and promptly undercoat the crap out of it.

I've been shopping for a house... systematically going over a piece of property/a vehicle and crushing the seller's hopes and dreams of an easy, at-price sale comes naturally by now :D

i don't think anyone is being negative. i read it as they are looking out for your best interests.

Jeep=obsession=work on it every chance you get=$broke$=wife is always PO'ed=no funny business=go get another jeep to fill the void=repeat cycle

My ex liked everything about my Jeep except that it was white... hell she helped me replace the gas tank on the thing. Still have yet to find another girl that cool, we'll see.

Also, couches are much more comfortable than XJ back seats for sleeping on. But why not have both options?!

well simon did you go get it? if I would have noticed this thread earlier I would have taken you down...

Nope, couldn't find a ride. But I did manage to put my MJ out of comission ... sprung a leak somewhere and lost all my tranny fluid while driving down the highway. That got interesting.

So now my DD is my bicycle. It's gonna be a cold 24 mile trip to work tomorrow morning.

!!!!????

Man, that sucks! Any idea how your tranny fluid escaped?

psh 3 hours that's nothing I drove 6 hours one way for my XJ... worth every second of it too

My 95 Project came from Texas. I had to drive 7 hours one way with a trailer, then pull it all the way back.

Longest I'd traveled for a Jeep was for my old 89 YJ. I bought it in New York. Flew up there after a short conversation with the owner and then drove it back. It took two days and I think I'm still tired from that trip.

Sounds like what I am going to do for my next Jeep/car. My buddy moves to Texas in 10 days.. I will be shopping for my next car down there (for my DD). I have narrowed it down to either a cherokee, wrangler, or 00-02 Trans Am WS6 (or Camaro SS if I find a good enough deal.. but leaning towards WS6). I had already planned on selling my altima for the trans am WS6 next March or so..but if I can get a TX car that would be much better. I still regret not picking up the Camaro SS I had lined up when I got the altima :(

I'd been driving down the highway for an hour and everything was fine. Got off the highway and started hearing a funny noise from the tranny ... and it was slipping. Got worse, but I pushed on trying to make it home. Brilliant, I know. Then it started blowing out a HUGE cloud of white smoke.

I pulled into a parking lot and looked underneath ... it was bleeding fluid badly from what looked like where the dipstick tube goes into the pan.

Not knowing what to do, I just poured a bunch of tranny fluid in the dipstick, let it cool off for a couple minutes, then hit the road again.

It ran fine the rest of the way home, except for the white smoke .... which I think was just fluid burning off the exhaust.

I got home, stuck a bucket under it, kicked it twice, and went inside. I haven't looked at it since.

Makes me wonder why I want a second one ..... but I just can't help myself:roflmao:
