LS1 for sale

I have a LS1 out of a 1997 Corvette for sale. The engine had 35K on it when pulled. The engine is completely torn down as I was going to use it for my 1969 Camaro. However I need funding for my new project my 1995 Cherokee. It is complete minus exhaust manifolds and one piston and rod combo that I lost during a move. Don't ask how I still kick myself for that! The crank has been stored in block since the tear down. The camshaft is covered in shop rags to avoid damage. Its ready to go to a loving home, I hate seeing it just sit there! I'd like to get $1200 for it but am open to offers.

unfortunately I don't have the time or the money right now. Me and the wife are buying a condo and I need a little extra cash if I'm gonna play around with my Cherokee.

Do you have all the wiring harness and computer? $1200 is a little spendy for a motor in pieces and missing parts.

X-2,

Not to bash the thread but to add some perspective. A new LS1 engine from Obama Motor Company (formerly GM) with all accessories, computer, and a 3 year 100K warranty runs
about $4500.00

Would that be a dark green XJ?:D

Sure would be! It still runs like a champ, can't tell ya how happy we are with it. But we got Rubicon coming up in August and I need a little funding to make it ready.

As for everyone else I understand what your saying about price and thats your opinion which you are welcome to. If you want to spend that much money on a new one by all means go ahead. As far as missing parts the only things its missing is the rod and piston combo. The exhaust manifolds would do you no good on a custom install because it most likely will not clear what ever you are putting it into. Same thing with the wiring harness, its not built for anything you would be putting it into unless its another C5 Corvette. I purposely did not get these things as like I said this motor was going into a 1969 Camaro. None of those stock missing parts would do me any good. This motor I am hoping this engine will go to someone who needs a good basis to build off of for a custom install where most of the stock accessories will do you no good or will not be needed. And like I said if you don't like the price you are more than welcome to offer your own price, trade or partial trade plus cash. Thats just what I was hoping to get.

And no I do not have the ECM.

As far as price, they can be had complete in the JY with harness and all. Not too much more with a trans. So, if I were you I would be a little lienient on the price. And, in all reality with it basically tornw down, you can purchase a GMPP cast-iron LSx block for arond 1700$.

Cast iron block probably would be the LQ truck motor but yes roughly the same motor. Like I said someone can make an offer of whatever they want, I will consider it and if I like it then they can have it. The price is not set in stone just a starting number as most people will go lower than the price listed on any used part. If I listed it for $500 (which I'm not) I'm sure someone else would find that to steep. Its just the nature of used parts, each part has different value to different people for different reasons.

It is similar but totally different. The GMPP LSx block is a performance block and is machined better than the LQ truck engine.

Come on no one wants this damn thing. I am willing to entertain offers or trades with in reason. I need stuff for a WJ brake upgrade on a 1995 XJ. Any armor anyone is got lying around? That sort of stuff.

Like I told people before make an offer and see what happens. If I think its resonable then its yours. Trades are welcome too! Got a good aftermarket gas tank skid? Guess who's looking for one! Got a nice rear bumper/tire carrier combo? I would most likely trade straight up for that. My jeep is pretty stock and I am looking to get it ready for rubicon this august, I NEED TO BUILD THIS THING! Also interested in upgrading my entire brake system to the system out of a WJ. If it peaks my interest who knows what will happen. And yet no one even tries! Not much I can do, because I promise you I am not going to give it away.

I have protofab rear Tire Carrier and bumper set up, basically brand spanking new.
Interested in a trade???

Let me think about it because I have one guy in front of you and I am not very familiar with ProtoFab.

And Cal the missing piston/rod combo is not going to get found. Trust me I have looked and I think that I accidentally tossed it out.
