For Sale my 2001 Jeep Cherokee Limited

Hey all!

Selling my beloved 2001 Jeep Cherokee Limited. I am the original owner, bought it new in 2001in the Chicago suburbs and drove it to Los Angeles to start my life here when I was in my 20s.

It's only ever been in California so rust free and solid.

Engine and transmission are strong. AC works. Car has been regularly serviced.

It has some cosmetic issues however, which are detailed in the photos. Happy to discuss in more detail any additional questions for anyone interested.

135.300 original miles, completely stock

3500 OBO.

See pics here: https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/18lp3CiLk73GAvTaqmgGz7-K62RHM_Ciz?usp=share_link

I really want someone to restore, care for it and love it.

Located in the mid Wilshire area of Los Angeles

That is an extremely clean XJ for $3,500. Someone is going to get a deal.

Yes it is, I would consider it if it wasn't black!

I have not blown up the pics to look for defects, but the only "issue" I see is the wear on the side of the driver's seat. If I were looking to sell that XJ I would take it to an upholstery shop and have that seat repaired and I would then list it at something just shy of $10K.

What you have there is the sort of XJ that Davis Autosports would purchase, detail and then sell for something north of $30K. You may not want to go through their detailing process (which includes replacing most of the gaskets on the engine), but just taking care of the most obvious things (like the driver's seat) you should be able to get better than twice what you are asking. If you don't want to do anything at all I would still ask for something north of $5K.

A one owner, rust free, unmolested XJ is a rare find anymore, and a 2001 Limited is also a desirable model. At the very least, take a look at what nice ones are selling for anymore.

Anak,

What an awesome person you are! Thanks for taking the time to give me all that valuable information, it's of huge help, I can't even tell you. Would you recommend even reaching out to Davis Autosports themselves? Great to meet you!

Adam

Anak is dead on, you're priced too low....I'd love to buy it for $3500 ;)

$7K would likely make for a quick sale as it sits.

Mileage is also in your favor.

Man, you would hate to see the $3,500 XJs around here…

Very nice input from Anak

It certainly would not hurt to reach out to them. I think what you have is exactly the sort of thing they look for, and I expect they are plenty well acquainted with vehicle shippers. And you could then rest assured it would end up in the hands of someone who would truly appreciate the vehicle.

The other person to contact would be Red Mistress. While your XJ isn't red, he has already purchased one black XJ like yours. He might have another daughter who needs an XJ. And he is definitely someone who would take good care of it.

ETA: Here are two of Red Mistress' threads: '87 Cherokee Chief and 2001 Black Beauty
