The Mini 14 was released as a smaller, lighter rifle patterned after the M14, hence .223 and "Mini" 14.
I'd like to get a Mini, configured right it would make a nice featureless rifle.

I guess my beef is that the M-14 is such an awesome weapon. They do make a mini 30, so why not make the mini 14 in 7.62? It just seems a shame to make something so beautiful, while butchering the history behind it.
OT: if I win, I could probably make ruger see it my way.
