Long Arm Kit

A proper Drop bracket setup, just like a Long arm kit, will work for years with zero issue's..

All drop bracket kits sold today have Braces, Rubicon express Ties the braces all the way back to the cross member, Rough countrys only go back about 6-7" but still, They serve to stop the "Rocking" of the drop bracket.. witch WILL stress the Unibody in that area severely..

But honestly, $200 for drop brackets, and then $300 for GOOD arms, is a waste of time.. I only suggest the drop bracket solution, if you have QUALITY adjustable short arms.

Hey guys, this is Kris Froehlich. I haven't really been on here much lately but I noticed today that my site got well over 50 hits in the passed day so I thought I would check it out. Thanks for the plug 90XJBlue

It seems like alot of you guys are right on track. A well built 4 link or 3 link is definitely the way to go over a radius arm set up if you can afford it. Also go for quality joints, we now offer only the best Ruffstuff heim joints as well as the option to upgrade to Currie Johnny Joints. A 3 link crossmember is a must on our XJs. Some crossmembers can even make tasks like a transmission flush complicated. Buy American made, support our country.

I would also like to add to the comment made earlier that there is a huge misconception about whether or not a 3 link is acceptable on road. It will handle just as well as any 4 link and be just as strong. The only top an extra upper link becomes a possible necessity is in JeepSpeed where you are jumping your rig and slammin down hard at high speeds and flex is not a concern. If you have time read through this thread. http://www.cherokeeforum.com/f67/3-link-radius-arm-156147/

If you guys have any questions you can also feel free to email me,

Not to take away anything from any other kits, but how is the Clayton kit?

Clayton is an upstanding kit. There are alot of people that have posted up that they like Clayton. I personally don't like the square arms but its a personal preference. It has nothing to do with strength. I am going to buy there three link cross member and build my own arms.

That's a y-link Kenny, anything that has the upper arms attached to the is considered a y-link or (radius arm)

Yeah I like the 3 pc cross member idea Rustys is not a 3 pc, and Iron man doesn't build & sell 3pc cross members anymore. He sells RE express. Allot of awesome opinions on this long arm talk.

The y-link has bind now matter what you do. I could pull the passenger upper link off, that would help, but I would rather just change it to a three, or even 4 link.

Also with a 3 or 4 link the axle is wristed so it maintains constant geometry as the suspension cycles. Where with a radius/y link the axle swings in an arc so geometry/alignment is only correct when the suspension is static.

I think this along with strength is why you see more 3 and 4 links where rigs are moving at high speeds.
