Any of you guys know Corey Calderwood? White 4runner on 32's lives in Laramie?

He's always telling me about the rediculus snow wheeling in WY...

yep. It's getting snow today :D I'm looking forward to it!!
Ya know, ive ridden the bike several times up through centennial and up on in the mountains around there but never done any wheeling in that area.

Are there any good spring/summer time trails up there or is it mostly just snowrun stuff?

Jeff, there are some trails but they are all easy. There is some really nice scenery there. I actually got Krity's XJ stuck in a snow drift up there on the 4th of July weekend. :O I would like to camp there for s long weekend and just drive all over there myself.

Probably wont make that one...new lift is on the way and should be here by the 14th....shouldnt take much more than a day or so to put it on, but i didnt want to drive it much till i got the tires and an alignment done either...but if all goes according to plan(which RARELY does), i MIGHT make it.

Matt's got the details right, McDonalds by the Flying J to clarify - right off I25.

Cameron, I'm working your bumper, sorry for the delay. Got your phone message. Will try to get ahold of you tomorrow. One last piece to make and we can assemble it.

Not much summer wheeling in the Snowies. Lots of 2 track, but that's about it.

Bob

For those that aren't in the Cheyenne area or meeting at Cheyenne, this is the rest of the info.

We will meet the Colorado members in Laramie at Howard Johnson (Fosters) at about 8:45 pm and leave there at 9:00 am to head to Arlington. That is west of Laramie about 30 miles(I think). There is a gas station/campground that those who trailer there 4x4s to unload and leave there trucks and trailers then we will head up the forest service road looking for some snow.

Hope to see some people out there.

i plan on coming. are the trails easy, but with a lot of snow or moderate with snow? also, i'll be coming from ft.collins, would it be easier for me to meet up at the McD's off 25 or at the HoJo. either way, i'll need a little more detailed directions.

It's going to be quicker and easier to take 287 North to Laramie and meet us there...

I'm sure Matt or Bob will fill you in on the trail difficulty - Nothing to hardcore...

Take the 287 into Laramie and then to the Howard...definetly faster than driving into cheyenne than to laramie. From what it sounds like, the trails are just fire/forest service roads that will be covered in snow...maybe some hills and stuff but i cant see any real tough obsticles(well maybe some deep snowbanks!). With your setup, you should be perfectly fine!
