Not sure about you guys - but it's now been 12 years (!!) since I put in my Centerforce II and the thing's been AMAZING. I would buy one again (if needed) in a heart beat!!

DISCLAIMER: I WILL NOT JINX MYSELF AND BLOW UP MY CLUTCH BY HAVING POSTED THIS.

Well I guess I got lucky- I'm a horrible clutch abuser - and the thing's been SO SOLID forever and a day. I can't even believe it. Maybe it depends on setting it up properly(?)

you DO have to do a resurface before installing... maybe that makes a difference. I did it with a random orbital sander and good sandpaper -worked like a charm!

apparently! I remember being pretty careful abut the fitment - can't remember the details exactly. But it fits like a glove and has been one of the VERY few things I HAVEN'T had to replace in the interim...

I was asking vetteboy...but thanks

The ones with the sliding weights? Heard lots of horror stories of the weights sticking.
My napa clutch has been good to me for 6+ years, 5+ of that in deep rocks, most of that time way undergeared

naw - no sliding weights on the one for the AX-15 I don't think. only some do... but hell - I'm just posting a testimonial here - saying it's been a real solid part for me. It may not be a popular opinion to have - but my centerforce has stood by me through thick and thin - so I think that deserves some kudos.

I had mine in my '94 for a while then rolled it and it's been in my '96 4.6l stroker for over 4 years and 40K. I dog my Jeep and have broken the Auburn LSD and the Hurst shifter. I thought that it finally bit the dust when I had my brother drive it to the auto-x in May and it could no longer go in gear enroute(didn't happen on my watch), but it was a broken clip that held the throwout bearing on the fork. I would buy another DF-2.
Edit: it does have the sliding weights that help with the additional clamping force. And Dukie, you asked if they even make a clutch for the ax-15--that's the Jeep's 5-sp manual, so obviously it does have one(so dunno how that was specific to vetteboy).

Gradon - not all of the centerforce clutches have them. See web site:

"The Centerforce II system utilizes a full facing-disc with premium friction materials and a pressure plate with patented centrifugal weights (where applicable)."

i.e. - for some vehicles they leave that out.

I'm really not sure - sorry - it's been way too long. I remember playing with the clutch a bit prior to install - but I don't recall anything 'sliding'...
