latest Johnson Valley run pics

Thanks for another great run. I've been so busy that this is my first post in months. I finally feel like the XJ is close to done. Put 1,200 miles on the stroker this weekend, pulling the trailer and it was pure sexual pleasure every time I rolled into the throttle at 2,500 RPM and pushed it out to 5,500 with nothing but love flowing.....yummy.

Observations:

- WCGIC and AZGIC are some hard-core MoFo's.
- Fish-boy's lightweight rig owns the steep stuff.
- Jes's rocker panels are JV approved....and then some.
- I own the two best trail dogs on the planet....except for some minor miteration problems.
- Jes and AndyC go places on 33's that web-wheelers have wet dreams about.
- Sobe bombs rock.
- The URF "Disappearing Three Link" rocks.
- Hydro shocks suck.
- Blown hydro shocks suck worse.
- Richard's tires are writing checks his axles can't cash.
- Snow runs at JV are not a good idea.

CRASH

Ok, Finally got some time to sit down infront of the computer.... What a kick A$$ trip!!!! Hammers RULE!!! Got to actually REALLY test my new junk and watch everyone else wheel their junk. 'DA pup is one he!! of a spotter, as well as hinkley and goatman. Really had fun the whole weekend, but the best part was towing 30,000 Lbs with my Cummins,(My truck and trailer with the XJ, with a strap on the back of my trailer PULLING ricks truck, trailer and XJ) in 4x4, in the snow, up 8% grades!!! I know Ricks next truck will be a 4x4. Cant wait for BOTW. Then we will have to show you cali guys what the "real" Az lines are.... :laugh3:

Damn, sweet pics guys. I mean isn't it totally awesome that you all live so close to these bitchin trails that you can get there in a few hours. I mean it's freakin sweet to just to pack up and go camping and be able to run the best trails CA has to offer in one weekend. I only wish my rig was built up enough to make it out there and run with you guys. Well maybe the next Jeep I trade for will be set up for JV or maybe BOTW. Till then all I got to say is........................ "You guy's totally ROCK"

Just to be clear.....Jes, Andy, Gary, and Bryan drove down from the Sacramento area, quite a bit more than a couple of hours, more like 10+. Matt drove from outside of Madera, 5+ hours. Rick, Joe and Jim drove over from Phoenix, 5+ hours. Mark drove from Texas.

These guys just love this kind of wheeling.

Brett:

We took 395 down the back side of the Sierras to head down there, which took 12 hours. We drove back up to Foresthill via 99, which took about 10 hours. Bryan C and Jes live in the Bay Area, and I'm not sure which routes they took.

JV to Dallas takes 32 hours.

2 hours to drive in the snow to Yucca, side trip to get trailer (THANKS MATT!!!!!!!!!!!)

22 hours of driving, eating and fueling

8 hours sleeping in Walmart parking lot

All worth the drive to write one word!

Oh and wheel, even if you have to steal a jeep to do it!

That Hinkley guy has no respect for other peoples junk. He put a 3' long scratch in my newly painted Cherokee, which on account of that funny white stuff turned into something that almost looks like what they call rust

Wait a second Paul, how much does rust weigh compared to paint? I'm thinking you could save a few pounds. Maybe?

I am thinking that hinkley has put some scrarches on my rig also.....it was CHERRY before he stole it :) Not one scratch on it. Now, I think its totalled. But you have to admit that there is nothing funnier than a farm boy jumping out of a doorless XJ, realizing that he did indeed leave his keys in the ignition and his XJ was right behind the stolen one....PRICELESS. AZGIC...Nice I like the ring to it. And only 2 members!!!!!

And Paul - you were right -- I should have kept Lisa away from Shannon -- thanks for putting those ideas in her head! :rattle:

Andy

Don't blame me Andy. You shoulda known better than to leave your wife alone with a mom & her cute little new born :laugh3:

Paul, Having a baby in the jeep is very stressful. But she did'nt seem to mined :speepin: .
Andy

Ashley never made a peep the whole weekend. Remind Lisa that most babies aren't that accomodating........ :)

Hey Jon, when are you going to advance from web wheeling to actually hitting the dirt?

:D
