pretty sure im giving you the finger in this one too.

Oh, and as usual, my Comanche broke before I even got to wheel. And, as usual, it got to ride a flat bed to the shop for repairs. Something popped inside the engine .... most likely a broken piston.

Thank goodness for AAA. Free tow!!

I'm wondering if I'll ever get to wheel this thing.

What a great time!!!! Thanks to Jordan, Lee and Stefan, you guys are good friends and certainly made this all worth-while. I really wish I could have wheeled on Saturday, but I really needed to get home after being away all that week. Special thanks to Lee for the awesome sandwich stuff (PB and H) and snacks while we were up on Crawl-Daddy.... Who knew that bananas, Chips Ahoy cookies, peanut butter pretzels and PB and H (honey) sandwiches make the ULTIMATE breakfast and lunch meals!!!!!

As for the RCQ.... WOW, talk about some awesome hardware flogging the trails at RC, it was great to be a part of and help out for this. I did not get one single picture, but I DID get myself on the Pirate KOH live feed. Our group had a radio so we could be a part of the live feed and provide updates from our area, but unfortunately the radio did not work in the West Property. They had me call in with my cell phone for live updates. I am gonna have to go find that to see how lame I sounded. Of course, I forgot to mention that the NAXJA crew was working recovery on Crawl-Daddy.... oh well...

man! That really blows.

You need to keep spares of everything on hand... engines, axles, you name it. I have the 8.25 (keeping the d35 from blowing up), a spare engine for the MJ (I have some UBER loud piston slap, and a super angry lifter or three, and oil pressure issues, and exxon valdez issues too), a few spare transmissions, etc... heck I have a perfect AW-4 out of a 99 waiting to go into the XJ, been flogging the crap out of the XJ on the highway doing 90mph on stock gears with no cooler and letting it shift and slip all it wants and it still won't give up because it knows I'm ready to toss it to the curb at a moment's notice :gee:

I know that if I get rid of any of that stuff, it will blow up the next time I turn around.

And yeah, peanut butter and honey is good, even better when you make it peanut butter, butter, and honey.

Wish I could have been there... but I was too busy replacing steel brake lines and the gas tank on the MJ (didn't have spares for that stuff, so it blew up) this weekend.

I can't tell for sure but that sure looks like the buggy that i was helping in the pits with, the #302 (if its not the 302 its the 518). If that is the parade lap, I'm standing on on right side of the screen the fat guy all the way to the left of all the people on that mound.

Got to meet a couple of people, probably would've done more to track you guys down, but I was sick (still am sick) all weekend and was pushing to get done what i needed to get done without falling out.

We did manage to get the #518 Branik Motorsports buggy with a 4.0 driven by Dino qualified for the 2011 KOH!

The #302 had many, many, many problems...

Hey man,
We didn't spend much time in the pit area either. We went down there to catch up with Adam from Clayton Offroad, but by the time we left him, we had to jump out of there and head back to our campground. It was good to meet you at dinner though, I at least wanted to make sure I tracked you down and said hello. It was also good to see Richard too, it has been since the Moab trip in 2001 that I have seen him. There were a few other competitors that I knew too. Sean Rose was competing too. I think his buggy broke down though too. He only came up Crawl-Daddy twice. He was a regular on NAXJA about 4-5 years ago now.

Glad to hear that at least one rig got qualified. What happened to the 302 buggy? It looked like it was doing OK when it went by us on Crawl-Daddy... It was hard to keep track how many times buggies went past though, after a while we lost track on a few...

5 miles into the course he flopped it on nothing...

then had troubles with it over heating...which we believed we had all of those issues worked out...

then an ignition wire got cut...

then a starter burnt up, they walked to the pits, got the parts, walked back, put it back together got almost another lap in and the starter burnt up again...

having no other starter and being not close to the pits, the day was called on the #302 and it was after 4pm. we tried and they gave it hell...

its a fast capabable buggy...just needed the day to go our way...

we'll take it to missouri and try again.

mac 'thanks for saying hi, hope you didn't get sick :) 'gyvr

I was in the pits from wednesday night til saturday night...spent a good portion of the night after the race hangin with Rosco and Scooby. I was disappointed that you and cmk pussed out early. :D

The motor in that "302" car sounds flat-out wicked.

Diddo...It was great to have spent some much needed time with great friends, cool mountain air, beverage or your choice ( a fruity one for SIMON), a snack variety and, of course, the PBH (honey) sandwiches!! Glad I could help our starving stomachs after those invisible breakfast sandwiches someone told Andy we were getting! :passgas: Can't wait to get together with you guys again to do another weekend like this!

Believe me, had I felt better, everyone would've known...I didn't drink one full drink all weekend...as a matter of fact, I haven't had a full drink for almost a week now...

I was around the campfire for a while on friday night after the race, you saw me if you were around rosco and scooby. Cmk left with his fam right after the race and didn't even party.

If we can keep the 302 together its a flat out wicked ride...
