Knucklehead's blog

Did he bend it on a car at the mall?

Build is looking good. How much did you pick up your 14 bolt for. Im trying to find a good deal on one. Also why are you running 35spline instead of upgrading to 37?

the 14b was in the red heep when i bought it.
35splines should be fine unless i get stoopid & go with 44's instead of "just" 42's when the 39.5's get bald. :explosion

gotcha. Was it 3 linked as well when you bought it? if not, how much time did it take you to get the right angles and calculations. Cant decide on what i want to do with the TJ. I want to 4 link the rear but have thought about radius arming the front so i dont have to deal with the 3 link/panhard and all that.

It had rustys radius arms up front. I bought them off him at the sierrafest, and he just now finished re-doing the front with the 3-link and ORI's.

got the gas tank skid all finished up & installed. 3/16" plate held on with 11 bolts.
also started building the front crossmember for the 4 link. 2x4x3/16 tube & 1/4 plates. i wish i had the new 4 speed atlas so i could figure out the mockup locations a bit better but it wont be here until the end of january.

Lookin good! I really like that design, very similar to what Im hoping to do for my tranny crossmember.

I cant wait to see this beast in person again. I say we plan a trip out to hollister in the semi near future.

Jesus, is there any tool/machinery out there you don't have in the fun factory? I would break sh!t just to use all those cool tools.

Then it would break again because I built it and I would have to build it again!

Cool stuff Tim, hope to see it in person this summer.

there are a few cool toys, i mean tools that i do not have...
surface grinder (i look for them every once in a while & will get one some day)
edm cutter, waterjet or plasma cutter table.
variable speed drill press. (missed one a couple years ago & still kick myself for not snapping it up). other than that i think i am pretty well set.
i would not mind having a larger excavator though, my 7,500 lb takeuchi tb135 is a bit on the small side...:skull1:
oh yeah, i want to sell my skid steer & get one with tracks instead of wheels someday before i move to oregon.
i think i need help with my tool obsession. :rof:

He's missing a sweet harbor freight 110v welder

i lied & told Santa that i was a good boy this year by helping all my :NAXJA: homo friends. maybe he will leave some quality harbor freight equipment under my tree instead of leaving a steaming pile of Jax's used dog food again.:wow:

I got the tmr shave kit all welded up today & it fit perfectly.
tomorrow i can start working on the 4 link mounts & the rear artec truss kit.

Damn sexy! It looks like it takes off 2" from the bottom or maybe more. What is the total reduction?
