What generation of cross bars? If you're running a 1991 rack, I do not have cross bars. If it's a newer generation with the flat bars, I think I have a set in my back patio. I do believe they connect differently on the two generations, though.

i'm pretty sure its the stock 91 rails .. this is my first xj.. i had a yj before so i'm still learning guys lol..

overland - if u have them i'll take them we'll have to figure out a train to get them close to the i.e.

as for the arms- my axle is about 3 inches back from where it should be.. i have the 5" rubicon on it with the 2" spacers so i need longer arms ... i was thinking of just cutting the tubes off and setting the axle where she needs to be and welding new steel on... but if someone out there has some that will push my axle forward then sweet!!

i have a rear fiberglass hatch i was gonna put on my rig due to a big ass crack in mine but i'm just gonna armor the rear hatch which will cover the break... so if some one needs a hatch i have one.... no glass in it just the hatch... in great shape!!

and that was 17 1/2" lowers and 15 1/2 uppers lol

i think i'm gonna get under her and measure whats on there now

ok i measured my arms i have 16" lca and 15 1/2 uca i need at least 2 to 2 1/2 more inches to square me up

this thread is not for asking for stuff, its for giving away things you think might be useful to someone else. if you want to ask for something put up a "Want to buy" post in the for sale forum ;)

FYI there are three types of factory roof racks.

1984 - 1988 used a mid-height track. The cross bars used a set screw that was infinitely adjustable. Screw was tightened by a potmetal head with slots that accept a quarter to tighten. The potmetal head eventually separates for the set screw and makes you unable to tighten or loosen the cross bars, this rack is to be avoided.

1989 - 1990 used a low track. The cross bars used a set screw and was infinitely adjustable. The screw had a thumb screw style head and just plain never fails (maybe it can rust up if you drive it on the roof in Ohio?). This was the best OEM roof rack.

1991 - 2001 used a high track. THe cross bars are adjustable about ever six or eight inches. They are locked into place with a pin that mates to holes in the track. The pin is actuated by a button in the ends of the cross bar that likes to get seized up a few years down the road from new. While this rack isn't as good as the 1989 - 1990 rack it isn't as bad at the 1984 - 1988 rack.

God I know too much ****ing Cherokee trivia.

well mine has a triangular track flush mounted to the roof with a inner track i believe.
