Haha it's a shocker isnt it? I barely have any brakes, but other than that, it's almost roadworthy at least. I did the new tps last night and adjusted everything back to where it should be.

If you want the number let me know, its a bit of a hike, but after having used almost every shop in the tri-county area... I don't take chances.

EDIT: oh, and don't try to do wheel bearings yourself, or even at an unqualified shop. If you Eff it up, you replace the bearing again and the wheel speed sensor, and abs lines, and axle shaft....ask me how I know :soapbox::rtm:

Yeah, probably a good idea. The trans wasnt bad to put in, but some of the stuff I dont think I'd do myself either, especially considering you're like 100x more mechanically inclined than I am :laugh3: but hopefully that stuff wont need replaced any time soon. I'll let ya know if/when I need the number (I'm sure I will eventually).

did some front-end stuff:

rebuilt the heim joints in my upper control arms. unfortunately, after i removed the UCAs and disassembled the heims, i opened the package for the rebuild kit and realized that they had sent me the WRONG bushings. FAAAAAAAWWWK! i was freaking out because i never miss a wheeling trip and this would have taken me out for this weekend. after a few phone calls, i got some advice from the manufacturer (BDS) who recommended that i try shimming between the washer and the bushings with another washer to tighten it up. the problem with that was, of course - who has washers lying around that are 1.75" od and 1.375" id and very thin? so WTF was i to do? again, i'm screwed and freaking out. then my buddy's dad found some pinion shims that fit perfectly. YAY! and it worked like a charm; the joints are nice and snug now. :D

replaced the axle-end UCA bushings. those things are BRUTAL to remove and a BITCH to install! :smsoap:

straightened my bent tie-rod again; i couldn't do the over-the-knuckle project because i still didn't yet have everything that i need for that project.

i don't know if i did it the right way. i put the boot on first, because i expected that the bushing-thingy might squash and expand in circumference, which it did. if it was under the boot, it would have pushed the boot outward.

Wierd, i would think it goes under a boot so you can fill it with grease. I dont know, I switched all my boots to poly ones & they are pretty damn stiff, I can imagine anything else fitting in with them.

i can still fill the boot with grease (certainly gonna hold grease better than the torn ones that i replaced). like i said, maybe i did it wrong. it's easy enough to swap. it's temporary anyway, because they are not needed with an OTK setup.

and the fit was EXTREMELY tight. that's why i expected them to flatten.
