JUST FOR BANDIT

Re: NAC Lots-O- Posts Thread-Part Deux

You just became my new hero!

wal-mart?

I am there tonight!

Thanks!
It was something just like this
http://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002KKIBY

I couldn't find it on walmart.com and I have never seen it at walmart before so either it's something new they started to carry or only limited stores have it. Hope yours does!

Edit: Not sure if you can run 100% of that stuff or if it is meant to be added to whatever other hydraulic jack fluid you use. It may be an additive. I would have to guess that if they have leak-stopper they may also have the hydraulic fluid itself as well... but I didn't really look for it.

Funny thing: last night I was getting my tires re-balanced at NTB and walked over to walmart (walmart is next door to the NTB) just to kill time. I was in the auto dept and saw hydraulic jack leak stopper. Never knew that stuff existed (or that walmart carried it) until last night. So there ya go, try some of that stuff out

Holy !#$@% THAT IS FUNNY!!!!!

Who woulda thunk it....

I actually have a leaky Craftsman Jack too (I have had it for over 15 years now though, so I figured it was allowed to leak...). I replaced it with one of those sporty Aluminum jacks, but still use the Craftsman from time to time. I might have to check this out too...

Wise ass... maybe 'funny' wasn't the right word to use :rof:

Unless I am incorrectly detecting extreme sarcasm and you really did think that was funny :D

No, I was serious... I thought it was funny... I was going write a post that said that Mark should invest in some Hydraulic Jack Fluid Stop-Leak... as a joke. Who knew it actually exists.... AND you could buy it at Walmart!!!!

Yeah, strange timing though that I just happened to be wandering around walmart pointlessly looking at everything in the tools/automotive sections and found that the night before someone needed it :eeks1:

Also found one of these at walmart:

I was intrigued, but would never buy one.

Re: NAC Lots-O- Posts Thread-Part Deux

I'm pretty sure I'd bust one of those in half in about 30 minutes. They look useful till you put some actual torque on them.

Re: NAC Lots-O- Posts Thread-Part Deux

i need some of that stop leak to I am gonna have to check into that.

Re: NAC Lots-O- Posts Thread-Part Deux

Yeah, so I can't make it up to Sams tomorrow morning, will have to try and swing up there another day. Maybe wed afternoon since I will be in Franklin already and will be getting out of work around 2 at the latest I hope.

? What are we looking at? That should be an easy patch job. I wish I caught mine that early!

Edit: If you were more local I would say you should swing by tomorrow night and we could take care of that... looks like I am working on my own "rust problems" tomorrow though.

On that note, I no longer have an exhaust. Picking up couple lengths of straight exhaust pipe tomorrow and have the dynomax cat back ordered. Hopefully comes in sooner than later

Yup, that's exactly what mine will look like pretty soon. :D and that is how my passenger side looks now.

I just decided to replace the exhaust while I have no passenger floor.. Makes welding the exhaust a bit easier. Ordered a the dynomax cat back at 9:00ish last night and it's supposed to be in tomorrow (free shipping). Can't complain about turn around times like that!

Tool shopping & prepping the exhaust tonight, then out comes the gas tank and rear floor.

Nice, good luck with your floors...mine look a bit better now

Just make sure you find the cause of your rust if you can i.e. leaks. I am still chasing down my leaks, I still get puddles every time it rains

Hopefully should go well. The driver's side floor was a PITA due to the 'not-so-straight' transmission tunnel on that side. Passenger side is just alot of rust so it will be a bit of work. Did drivers side in sections, doing the same on the passenger side. Probably doing the rear in segments as well (using a flange tool on the edge of each overlapping piece). Flange adds quite a bit of rigidity to the sheet. So mine won't look so smooth and nice, but should be pretty strong.

Not sure if I actually have a leak. Never had water/wetness in there before (except the stuff kicked up through the floor from the road). I think that the rust was started by the P.O. The guy lived by a lake and there is a small hole punched in the tailgate which I think was from a trailer and someone who didn't know how to back one up. The hole is kinda half ass patched, but I think it was from a jetski trailer and the floors rotted out from him backing up to the lake all the time and all the wet gear he moved around.

dude really?

?

Re: NAC Lots-O- Posts Thread-Part Deux

Really? about...the leaks? Yup, I think I found out where it's coming from, at least in the back...along that seam from the quarter/where the hatch shuts. The front still leaks from either the heater core or the drain in the cowl, but that's not as big of a deal.

Re: NAC Lots-O- Posts Thread-Part Deux

My front may leak through the doors. After floors are completed I have to get to the JY and replace my drivers side door hinges. Passenger side works great, but the P.O. broke the lower hinge pin in the drivers side... and then ignored it until I bought the XJ. By which time the lower (and probably upper) hinges had been hollowed out quite a bit.

Re: NAC Lots-O- Posts Thread-Part Deux

Yeah matt I was gunna ask ya if you could help me out. I pulled my carpet all the way up to the back seat and it all looks really good but was a bit damp so that worries me. Dad doesnt want me to cut out my nice carpet cause it is like mint, but I have mat's over it anyways so I dont see why? I used to want it, but now I wanna cut it all out and make it like Mark's so I still have SOME niceness, but can take it out and shit. I had 2 leaks, one in my hatch before I fixed how my CB cable came inside, and the other from when I chucked up my damn door at rausch....and I RTV'd them so hopefully it will seal better
