Re: NAC Lots-O- Posts Thread-Part Deux

I'd keep the carpet at least in front/backseats. I'd rip all the carpet out to check it out, it's not that bad to do it without messing it up...I just kinda cut/tore a lot of mine cause it was nasty. If that's the only spot of rust though, that's not too bad. You'd have to get brad or mark or someone to weld it cause I can't weld haha.

You may want to get rid of all the insulation junk though, that's probably holding water and making it damp...which will eventually eat your floors and look like my jeep.

Keep the carpet - it's not that hard to keep it in one piece like js_customs said. I say pull it all out very carefully, put it aside to dry out, then repair all existing rust, herculine over everything, put undercoating on the bottom of the floorboards, then put the rug back in.

Haha shut it tom. I'd like my stereo to sound half decent and I'd also rather not be deaf after a long trip. Maybe its just cause I have retarded vibes right now, but it was loud as hell when I took it for a drive last. But yes, I am a woman :shock:

Re: NAC Lots-O- Posts Thread-Part Deux

Dont worry matt, I am a woman about that too. I want carpet in the back seat for umm obvious reasons :laugh: but the cargo area and where my feet are when driving I want herc, so what I will most likely so is herc da sum bich and then have my carpet cut into sections so I can have it in the back seat area

Re: NAC Lots-O- Posts Thread-Part Deux

Carpet in the trunk is just a fancy name for "nasty gunk absorbing mat attached to one's Jeep". I need to remove mine soon, my floors are rusted out under it anyways and the carpet back there has approx.:
* 1 cup gasoline
* 1/2 cup shock absorber emulsion (did not realize how bad this stuff smells till I cut one in half with a sawzall at the junkyard)
* 3 quarts transmission fluid
* 1 quart GL-5 (ugh! dead dino arse odor)
* 1 pint grease
* 4lbs rust chips

all ground into it. It smells BEAUTIFUL let me tell you!

Re: NAC Lots-O- Posts Thread-Part Deux

Once I stop lugging axles and stuff around in the back I'm going to rip the carpet and remaining floor paneling out and put in 1/8 diamond plate... once I find a good place to buy that, that is.

I think I'm gonna pick up the (free!) square tubing for the start of my rear bumper this Saturday... :party:

2 things:
1) 1/8" :shocked: Now you are making me feel like my 18 gauge floors will be sub-par

2) Does your supplier have any extra square tubing you want to give away for free :D

Re: NAC Lots-O- Posts Thread-Part Deux

My rear cargo floor is 12 gauge :D. The carpet isnt going back in the rear cargo area, I'm gonna put a husky liner in there I think. Diamond plate floor is pretty cool too, I did that in my suburban.

Re: NAC Lots-O- Posts Thread-Part Deux

I would just keep your Herc back there or get a rubber mat that doesnt have raised edges. I like the raised edges when I have all the seats up, but when the seats are folded, the raised edges on my Husky liner get annoying...AND it doesnt let you have access to the 4 rings on the floor

Re: NAC Lots-O- Posts Thread-Part Deux

I am probably just going to herc or something the entire floor, is husky the one that costs a bit over 100$ but comes with spray gun and all?

If not... does anyone know who makes that kit? I know I read somewhere on here that whoever used it wouldn't recommend it for inside use due to the overspray... but I'm not all that concerned about overspray :D It will be covering my entire interior anyway, so the only overspray that might be troublesome is on windows which I can mask off.

1) it's the thinnest diamondplate I think will hold up... I don't intend to put a carpet back in, and I don't want to get a bead roller, so 1/8 plate it is!

2) well, it's the old tongue off the trailer my dad built - ended up being too short so he pulled it off and put a longer one on. He told me if I wanted it I could take it out of the basement. Sadly, this is a one-off deal :(

I almost got a bead roller, but instead got a flange tool. Figure I will flange each end of each sheet to add a bit of strength and do it in 1 food wide pieces.

And regarding the steel... i need to find someone with useless extra steel for bumpers. I wish my father was someone who bought steel and made his own stuff!

Re: NAC Lots-O- Posts Thread-Part Deux

Why go lambo doors when I already have reverse lambo doors?
