Hi all, I am new around here. Two days ago I purchased my first Cherokee (a 1995 one-owner w/ 142,xxx miles) and I am super excited to get to work on it. Here goes!

This is what it looked like two nights ago when I picked it up. Note the wretched running boards.

This is as it appears now after yanking the running boards and air dam.

The wheels are in need of some love, but it was owned by a 70-something year old lady, so the interior is flawless (except for this -> :smoker:). Lift kit, here I come!

If you dont wanna get new tires are rims right way, I had my rims sandblasted and then 3 layers of powder coat gloss black and 2 layers of clear coat. They look so good people either think i had em painted to match jeep, or they are after market. But like I said, only if you dont plan on getting new rims for a while....

(P.S. If you do this, use sticky weights to balance so you dont chip powdercoat!)

welcome....

your off to a good start.
here's a tip, before you start spending money on lifts
and tires and suspension...do lots of reading in the tech area.
lots of people buy 30's then go to 31's the 33's.
save yourself some money and read and check out others XJ's.
come over to Winterfest...you'll see plenty of different set-ups.

Hi Nate!
i work with Nate and i'm glad he finally got an XJ! now there are 3 of us out of 5 people at work that drive XJ's. believe me, he's doing PLENTY of research! hahaha!

I thought, "That looks just like Nate's XJ", then I realized it was! :wave1:

Can't drive mine to work tomorrow, still f'n with the new brakes. The spring I am missing is called a brake equalizer bar spring. I have heard that it keeps everything from rattling. I can't find one, the kits didn't come with one, so I am going to buy a Lowes spring and ovalize it in the vice at the shop.

Now time for :smoker: & :tv:.

That is about all we do in the winter at work. Research XJ parts, boobs, music and beer, usually in that order.

Guess I will put in my little story, and hey guys from Indy! I just scored a '95 Country from a buddy for 1$, 95k original, 1 owner. Had to go to Maine to get it, but well worth the drive home. Had lots of 84-85 forerunners, like this truck much better! I am also starting to build this as a DD, so find me at winterfest, it'll be the gold, non-lifted, with MTR's and Thule racks, farm use bumpersticker... And what a great forum and folks. Solved what I needed right here! Ed
oh yeah, I am from Greenwood...
