It makes you look like you're ready to do some serious welding :D

Remi, how was the drive home on the welded axle tube? I'm curious to hear if it tracked straight or shimmied or anything. I assume it didn't fall off since you made it home. You gotta get the breakages out of the way on the first day of wheeling so you can enjoy your weekend....right?

I was home by 8am after driving through the night at around 65~70mph :D
In regards to tracking? It had a slight (very slight) pull to the right, but I think I had that before so I was not too worried.

On the upside, I do have an axle housing that's stripped of all the external stuff (including the knuckles) and now I just have to clean it and gut it and transfer my gearing components over :D I'm hoping to be all swapped over by the end of this coming weekend.

Glad to hear everyone is home safe. What was the deal w/ the Sammi driver?

Remi you think you're going to make it to Swamp Lake?

Sammi driver was drunk and rolled the rig while his passenger was also drunk and didn't have his seatbelt on and fell out during the roll.

I'm working on it :D I hope to have everything done this coming weekend, and worst case scenario I will drive on the welded housing as it seems to be holding out pretty good :D

The red XJ with the doors off and the older winch, was that Derek from Moab?

yup, I've talked him into coming down for the trip :D

Cool. He is a pretty good driver. I did Hells Revenge with him out in Moab and I was pretty impressed. How did he do on bald 31s?

I think he had 32s...? but he did well, lockers and seat time do wonders, even with smaller tires. speaking of which, does anyone have any contact info for him? is he online here?

Not sure about email but you got the user name right. AT this point though he's partying down in San Francisco.... unless he got left behind and locked in during the Alcatraz tour. IIRC he should be back home towards the end of the week.

update on the injured Sammi passenger

Hear is a little more info The passager has 7 broken ribs and both of his lungs clapsed. He is on an life suport. The driver is also named peter both of these guys are good friends of mine. The passager was told to put his selt belt on before they rolled pete is still beating his self up pretty bad over this. My hopes and prayers go out to them.

Well, I guess we can give ourselves a pat on the back:
he's @ Sutter in Roseville. He's still in ICU, and should be out into a normal room in a couple days, and is expected to make a full recovery... minus the spleen and kidney they removed

Pleasant.

I'm glad to here that our efforts were able to make the difference and that OUR reputation was polished for it. I bet even 4 wheeling will get a proponant of safety belts after he recovers. It's just too bad you have to go through hell sometimes to make an impact on people and realize that excuses really are just that. I will be wearing my seatbelt for sure.

Haha. I saw you pull up on bald tires with a 3" poly spacer lift, and thought to myself ".. no fucking way."

Man. You and your girl there both drive like a mofo. :)
