Jcr 1 ton questions...

My Currie never failed. Tie rod bent ever so slightly, but drove fine that way.

My inverted T with heims works. Honestly, you can run TRE's on the knuckles and the pitman arm, but throw some tabs on the top of the tie rod instead of putting a TRE through the front of it, and you don't deal with the rolling at all.

Ive seen two. :dunno:

just curious, what failed?

that's not a failure. it is designed to bend so as to not fail other, less replaceable parts of the system.

I ran my setup just like that. had tons of roll. played around with bushings on the heims and TREs etc etc.

every inverted T system I've ever seen has the roll. some more than others, but if you are spotting someone up something, you can watch the tie-rod roll and not affect the tires at all.

My inverted T was mint. I understand the inherint tie rod roll and have seen it on other jeeps, but mine didn't have any noticable slop, even without those poly spacers/boots/whatever the eff they are.

Then again, it was also over the knuckle, on a wider axle, with a fairly low lift height.

x2.

I daily drove mine at 80 mph and the steering was beautiful. Slightest deadspot if you could even call it that. I used the so called elusive J10 washer/spacer and, while it did wear out, it was never a big deal and I usually didn't even notice it when it did.

Just OTK. No high steer or anything.
