I'm Adam from CT. I installed a 3.5" lift this spring and haven't really ever been on a long run. Almost every weekend has been devoted to other things unfortunately.

My XJ has a 3.5" RE, LP 30/8.25 axles. JCR stage 2 bumper, as well as an AA SYE and Alloy tube seals waiting to be installed.

By the end of the winter I'd like to have Bilstien 5150s all around, 4.56 gears and a rear bumper.

Latest shot of my jeep, RE 3.5SF 32's and trimmed, TJ flares all around, JCR front and rear bumpers, waiting on my full packs to 'settle' but hasnt happened yet, starting to think maybe they sent me 4.5" full packs? Its been almost a year and its still HUGE for supposably being 3.5

Those looks like 3.5's to me. I recently helped a friend install the same lift in his rig, sat about the same until he added a spacer up front to level it out. RE makes their leaf packs so they'll be true to height, even when you're loaded down with spare parts, tools, recovery equipment, etc. They will settle and soften as you use them. I've had mine in for about 4 years now along with lift perches and shackles, and they've come down a some (of course that's with tools, trail spares, and a LOT of extra steel on the rig... :D)

Good lookin rig!

Hey Im Stefan from about an hour north of NYC. Ive got a 98 two door, 4.0 5 speed, with 3in RC lift with 30in mastercraft M/Ts. I have a 9.5K lb winch(no name... well its vortec, but Ive never heard of them) mounted on a custom bumper. I run Rusty's air tube with the k&n filter, but I swap it out for the factory air box when ever I go serious Offroading when I think it could get wet or really dirty. I have a lot of plans for my XJ, just wish I had the budget to make those plans happen sooner. I love this site!

My name is aaron and i live near reading pa and i got my 90 xj mostly as a toy however i may put it on the road as a vechle for the wife due to the minivan with 200000 miles on is running bad. It has a 2-3 lift with 33s and bought it with bds lift and rebuilt engine and hit in right front. Plans include a 6-8 lift and lockers and gears and offroad with autism awareness web sites or messages on it to raise awareness for children like my 9year old son effected by autism , and possibly go to rcrocks at raush creek . Thing runs good and has cold ac even with trimmed fenders.:rof:

I've been lurking for a few months now...mostly checking out all the beautiful XJ's you guys have. I live in Michigan and picked up a 2001 XJ Limited several months back with grand plans to build her trail ready. But our lovely economy here in Michigan resulted in a sizable paycut for me this year (but at least I'm still working, right?)... so I've only handled some minor repair issues under the hood with no real upgrades. Put in a new battery, idler pulley, s-belt, and fluid changes. Still getting a vibration (sounds like it's coming from the rear) when idling though...I'm thinking it's a bad dampener. Anyone have any other ideas?

Anyways...here she is the day I picked her up:

I appologize in advance if this isn't the place for the following questions or comments, but I couldn't find a way to post new topics: I'm currently shopping lift kits...thinking about settling on a RE 3.5" on 32's. The idea is to start smaller to avoid the expense of an SYE and axle upgrades. Been shopping junkyards for Dana 44's...but with no luck. Thoughts or suggestions on my plans?

Also...came across a used ARB bull bar. Picked it up for $300. It has a lot of surface rust on it, but it's in perfect structual condition. A guy said he'd blast it for $100 and another guy said he'd powdercoat it for another $100. Someone else recommended an acid dip...but I'm not sure of the pros or cons of that compared to media blasting. Thoughts or suggestions?

Anyone have any experience running a Trail Ready rear bumper...the one with the rear quarter panel and tail light protection? Come to think of it...I have lots of questions about things. So if someone can point me to the right area, I'll take them all there.

Anyways...looking forward to talking with you guys!

All you have to do to post a new thread is click the forms link then select what area it is and you will see a "new thread" button...as far as your ARB, id go sand, is the cheapest....and come on its a bumper not a painting :looney: as for rear just search for "rear bumper" or something along thos lines...or you can look at my favorite http://www.c-rok.com/Rearbumper.html

What's up fellow XJ'ers? I'm Michael Maxim from Northern, VA. I live just along the Occoquan River about 20 miles south of Washington DC. I am a converted TJ owner and now have a white 97 XJ Country Edition. I also run www.EastCoastWheelers.com if anyone wants to check it out.

Plans for the XJ include:
  • Waggy Dana 44 front and rear with 4.88's
  • TSM disc brake conversion for the rear
  • Ox Lockers front and rear
  • Rusty's 8" Long Arm on the front
  • 505 Performance 4 link in the rear in place of the leaf spring setup
  • 36x13.50 15 Iroks on Eaton Beadlocks
  • Re-gearing the transfer case
  • Custom Roll Cage
  • On Board Air using a converted AC Compressor
  • Nate's 4x4 front Winch Bumper
  • a few other goodies...
Here's a pic of my TJ after it was done...

whats up, My name is Dave , new here but not to 4x4. been into the wheeling scence for about 16 years now. I live in Jersey so of course thats where most of my wheeling occurs, I do like to travel a few times a year and check out some other states.
Right now my 92 4door xj is stock, I do plan on doing a smaller LA lift with 31" boggers and all the rest necc. for it to survive. bought the xj about 4 months ago for $500 with 209,000 miles on it, currently it has 216,000. I had to put about a total of another $400 into her since then, but shes pretty tight now. this is my second xj and 4th jeep. I first had a 72 commando, then a 82 cj-7, the the 1990 2dr xj, and now this one.

I'm Ryan, I am from Upstate NY, but I am in the military and I live in Italy right now. I have a 1999 XJ Classic with a 4" Skyjacker lift on 31" BFG A/T's. Not much else besides that. its a DD so I dont really go wheeling yet. I recently got a buch of metal for free so I soon will be creating some armor for the XJ. My plans are to dump some money into it and when I get back to the states it will be paid off and ready to crawl anywhere.

tauton 2

Im not 100% on adding pics but i tried*

I've been a user on here for a while, but never posted in this thread. I'm Matt from Elverson, PA, but I live in State College most of the time since I go to Penn State. Here's my heep. It has around 5" of lift (mismatched parts, mostly rough country and rubicon express) with RC drop brackets and Bilstein 5100's. This pic was taken when I had 31" Trxus mt's, it's now on 32" bighorns. It has a bunch of other random mods (skids, fog lights, sub, exhaust, etc) and I have a dana 44 to swap in as soon as I order gears and a locker. Sorry about the huge pic...

Hey,

My name is Jordan. I live on Long island. Story behind the the display name is weird...

This past 4th of july I went wheeling and I had a make shift cold air intake....Went through a puddle and proved Jeeps cant die. Water in the intake and when we took off the spark plugs out the spark plugs...gave it and hour or so and it turned right over. got towed home and cleaned it up changed the plugs and oil.

Ill post some pics soon (no recent ones). I have a 2000 XJ with a 3 inch lift (brand unknown) 31 inch procomp xterrains and 15 inch cragar soft eights. two KC 624s adorn the bull bar. Im sort of a jackass I have two "FU" lights in the rear and an airhorn.

Soon to come....AJ offroad custom slikrock bumper, new leaf packs and coils and possibly a lot of armor.

Thanks
Jordan
