Introduce yourself

wuddup. new guy from central nj. this is my first jeep. picked up an 88 4 door xj. shes got some miles but im using it as a dd for now and its holding up good. wheeled around a couple times locally, nothing serious as its completely stock. this is first wheeling vehicle. had quads and motorcycles and what not. here is a pic of my red monster lol.

Hey guys, figured I'd finally introduce myself...Im friends with and work with Colin (moparmaniac), he convinced me that wheeling is a good family activity and the wife approved so...

The search started and I found a basically rust free 01 XJ 10min from me in need of a motor. Picked it up for a good price..plans are to get it running with an earlier 4.0, clean up the interior, and get it on the road.

This spring I'm planning on fab'ing a 3 or 4 link up front and keep the leafs out back. I'll do stiffeners and sliders at the same time. Shooting for 4.5-5 in of lift, I love the look of 35's and really dont feel like wasting cash on the stock D30 (and the back is a 35 so that needs to go anyways), and Colin is pretty convincing so I will most likely go with a 60 up front and a 60 or 14b out back...if I can find a 44 for the front cheap and 8.8 for the back, I may do this, but with the way my projects end up going I'd rather build crap once.

I do have a 5.3 and a dual quad 440, but the 5.3 is destined for my turbo dart project and the dual quad motor is going up for sale once I assemble it.

So if anyone has a a good running 4.0 (dont care the year or really the miles as long as its a known good runner) let me know. I do need some misc interior shit (wife will want a clean gut for sure) so I'll hopefully figure out what I need this week and post it up.

Hopefully I can make the NACfest, I had planned to hitch a ride to Rocktoberfest this year but have a wedding to go to instead so I'll have to watch Colin smash trees and catch fire in the spring.

Gotboost - where in central NJ? I'm at Fort Dix. If you're looking for anyone to do some work on it for you I'd definitely recommend calling Jack at No Excuses in New Egypt.

im actually in Jackson bro. he already put a new steering box in and steering shaft cuz it was seized. thing was all over the road lol. hes an awesome guy. I talked to him about installing a lift whenever I can afford one. def the place to go that's close. I wish I knew something about jeeps to determine whether the axles and suspension are decent so I can wheel around. im afraid of losing a bearing or breaking an old leafspring. maybe ill have jack take a look under it.

Hey, I am new here but not to the jeep world. I will be attending Rocktoberfest this coming weekend so I wanted to join up on here to make it official.

I'm Ryan and from the Springfield, MA area.

I have a 96 XJ Sport with about 150k on the clock. Just finished adding a few more inches of lift, adjustable UCA's and LCA's, brake lines, etc... all with Rocktoberfest in mind as a finishing goal. I can't wait to get it out on the trails some more as well as become part of this community. I also have a 98 GC Limited 5.9 that will be the next project in line after this XJ.

Here are a few shots from the test drive this past weekend.

Well after a 4 year break I'm back to being a paid member..... Ha ha. Anyway, looking forward to getting back on the trails and inserting useless comments as often as possible. Its good to be back and I hope to meet some of you soon.

she thought she cured you, which of the kids did you sell to keep the balance even?

Pretty sure one of them is missing, probably the 8 week old, can't find that one lately

Hola,

Finally getting back into it guys. It has been since 2008 that I owned my 97 xj.

Just got a 1996 Country yesterday. Everything seems to work and all the fluids have been changed.

Looks like this is what I am dealing with:
dana 30
chrys 8.25
np231
aw4
bone stock

I was looking at some stickies, and some articles on starting over, or being a newbie are not working.

My plans are trimming, 4.5 lift, 35's, lockers, and bumpers (other armor too)

I will post pics tonight...

just signed up today..i have visited often as all my google searches lead me to NAXJA. i figured it was time to get a little more involved.

Here's Ron...he's a work in progress ;)
