I am now the owner of another Jeep. No my wife did not make me sleep in it. It's a 1971 Commando. Buick V6, auto tranny, hard top. I have always wanted one of these things. My plan is to do a full on restore, as close to stock at I can get it. I would love to make it my daily driver in the summer. What makes this build even cooler is the fact that the VIN plate is stamped that it was built in Apr 1971. Same year I came rolling "out" of the assemebly line. That is going to make this build even more special.

Anyone know where I can get some NAXJA style info on these things? Heavans knows I don't expect to find a NAXJA for Commando's but some info sites any of you knwo of would be very helpful. THANKS!

Here are some pic the previous owner took. I expect to have some of my own up on the www.luvmyjp.com site in the next few days.

Looking for anything specific? I've been doing a lot of Jeep research lately for the book I'm working on (The Jeep I6 Power Manual) - I could work this in while I'm at it...

No quotes on time, but I can see what I can do if I know what I'm looking for...
