Yesterday threw out 4 pairs of boots thatve crapped out on me in the past couple of weeks. Went to the redwing store, but didnt like any I saw. Sadly only store locally I can buy made in USA boots. I ended up ordering some thorogood boots, hope these last a while. Sucks when you have to spend hours just to find a product made in your country.

Really that trucks worse enemy is rust. Rockers, cab corners and rear wheel wells. If it is an '01 it should be obvious. Make sure it isn't packed full of bondo.
I know 7.3s go for stupid money, especially if they are rust free.
Looking at that pic on a bigger screen, I would pass. It will be a rust bucket inside of two years.
Look at the rear cab corner and the wheel well.
Run away!
Like mentioned above, the 7.3 is a good motor, but is underpowered in comparison to a modern diesel. We still have a 99 and an 02 on Camille's parents farms and her dad is a full blown idiot when it comes to vehicle care. Knock on wood they have not had any motor problems, but transmissions have been plenty. the 99 has had , and I am not joking, 7 transmissions put in it and it has around 370K on it by now. the 02 is a manual and it has had 2 transmissions, but that was operator /mechanic failure. The rear drive shaft came apart at 75mph and it snapped the tcase off the tranny. It was a mongo f-up. If Sean and I have ran them and not destroyed them, that says something.
That one looks like a rust bucket, I would keep looking.
Noticed it last summer, doc confirmed in September, said as long as it wasn't painful could postpone surgery indefinitely. Was fine until February when I started working 12 hr days to finish up a major remodeling job before going to Hawaii. Later in the day it would start feeling like someone kicked me in the nads, but if I sat down for 10-15 minutes I would be ok for a while.
Then in Hawaii it started bothering me more randomly, often couldn't even keep up with the wife while hiking, so I knew it was time to fix it.
