Shit, you and me both man. That is why I told the BOD that this needed to be a lesson on getting this documented and the things marked down....when left to open interpretation, it can go about 1000 different ways, and 999 are wrong. I hate that it has gotten to this point, for the members and for the BOD. And I will stand behind my statements from my prior post, that Dan did one hell of a great job as President and made huge things happen for this chapter along with his BOD members, and it did not go unnoticed by me, or the membership I am sure. If I loose my BOD access, I will be along side Mike and Dan and that's just the way it will go I guess. After a decision of this nature has been made, the last place I assume Dan would want to be is in the BOD section helping now.

That's a problem. The bod does to much via text and talk not on the forum.

The real problem is that our bod still hasn't responded to this issue.
 
It has always been understood that once you drop paid membership you are out of the bod forum. Hale should never be allowed back in.

Technically, Tyler shouldn't have access.

Your current president has been pissed at me for resigning. This is his way of "punishing" me. He knows how much I value this club/chapter and knows how much it means to me to continue to assist.

I would very much like my access back, even with this situation.

If my access was a concern, he should have dealt with it 3 1/2 months ago, but instead he chooses to wait until Byron and Ben come aboard. 4 days on the board, Matt puts this on them, KNOWING they will follow his lead.
 
Ok, I'll be the first to draw fire. Macgyvr has been under the weather for the last couple days, so I'll try to bring some perspective. The outcome of this may result in the shortest VP term in NAXJA history, but here goes.

You say the current BOD "thinks" they know your reasons but without so much as a word from you we can only deal with the fallout.

It was not a decision made on a personal basis. You are making it personal. I don't know what happened between you and Matt, and that is your business to sort with him. If you want to air your dirty laundry over a public forum, so be it.

It was done back channel until yesterday when Dan decided to bring it to the light.

As Tyler stated, there is nothing in the bylaws governing BOD forum access to past presidents, therefore an official vote was not necessary. Opinions aside, the decision was made. Also, my decision was not swayed simply because Matt is the President. I can tell you that the decision was not made lightly.

Regarding text messages vs. forum messages. It's no secret that Dan and Matt used to speak daily via telephone and text. I seriously doubt they NEVER conducted NAXJA business during those off-forum conversations. I may be wrong, and if so I will apologize.

I harbor no ill will towards you, Dan. However, I don't take kindly to being called a coward. What do you think we are trying to hide from you?

Maybe I'm just not seeing or understanding but I still don't see the reason this was done.
As far as texting, just because it was done before doesn't make it ok. You can't research past texts where you can look back on discussions made in the bid forum. That's what it's for.
 
I sent my retirement papers to headquarters Marine Corps today.

I also have a plethora (!) of text messages between myself, Matt and Dan talking about and conducting NAXJA business. There is no fault in that and the majority of those discussions were held in order to streamline what was posted to the national bod forum so that people didn't have to read a thousand posts to make one point.

I have spoken with both Dan and Matt privately and they know how I feel about this whole mess. I can tell you that as the National VP I am disappointed in everyone involved. If this decision is irreversible, then that's what it is. Continuing to bitch about it serves no purpose. If it is a decision that can be changed, then the chapter bod needs to take into consideration the opinion of its membership and revisit the issue.

In either case, a bunch of you need hookers and blow so you can chill the hell out.

There was a time when you picked up the phone and called people on the BOD to discuss issues. 2015 isn't any different, the medium has changed.

I have an earlier 5.4 2v motor. I use it for exactly what you are describing. A DD that can tow when you need it. I'm not sure what the tow package includes for the F-truck, but for the Expedition it includes an enormous ass transmission cooler, bigger sway bars, the bigger rear axle, the 4r100 transmission, limited slip rear end and the pre-wired brake controller plug under the dash. I also have 3.73 gearing, but I don't think that was technically part of the HD towing package. It works for scooting around the midwest. I'm not sure it would be too good in the mountains, but I have no experience with the 5.4 there to know it.

On a side note, I completely screwed up what the kid at the dealership told me for plug numbering and replaced the wrong COP and plug. My misfire is as bad as ever and now I am getting about 8 miles to a gallon. Good thing the COP are less than $20 on Rockauto.

And it may not be personal for you sure. But it is for OUR president.

Besides that you guys could have replied two days ago when it was mentioned instead of sitting in the BOD trying to come up with a story.


The main question is why wasn't this done 3.5 months ago?

I'm almost certain it's because our president knew he couldn't pull it off with people in the BOD that aren't yes men/nut swingers.

It was posted in the BOD forum.

Fart in the wind?? Very professional.

It was brought to the public because I have no where else to talk to the BOD, and the membership needs to be aware how the new administration is being run. It was a bad judgement call and if for one moment you thought I wasn't going to dispute your decision, then you need to sharpen up on your politics.

You're making this so "official". "Not in the bylaws". Have you personally read the bylaws, Byron? What was done was done without warrant, there was no reason to punish me.

You are a coward, as matt and Ben are. Contact me, inform me that you're all getting to black ball me, ask me. I know there were a lot of phone calls and text placed.

You answered no questions.

Why did I resign. A short story by Dan....

There's many answers to that question. I have been increasingly stressed with many things that had been happening, both in the national and chapter level. The straw that broke the camels back was the Go Fund Me link that was posted in the MWC FB page that I deleted. I deleted it because it was posted there by a person that was NOT a member of N, and requested to join the fb area just the day before. The Go Fund Me link was posted before Aaron's body was cold, stating that they needed funds for the funeral expenses. I wanted to be shown what was needed before we could "endorse" that on our page. Simply allowing that link opens up the chapter to allowing EVERY link in the future. As it turned out, they DID NOT need that money for the funeral, I know this because $1500 of that was given to the chapter. Proving my suspicion. Because I deleted the link, I was called every name in the book and physically threatened by a member (not Macgyvr). Macgyvr would not stand by me and my decision. I was thinking only of the chapter. This situation is what pushed me over the edge. I waited a day before I resigned.

The personal reasons I resigned, are simple, the stress of running the club had reached a level that it was effecting me on a personal and physical level. Once that happens, you need to make a decision. My decision was to keep my personal life and health in check.

The board was wrong to remove me, I earned the right to be in that forum. I gave 5+ years to helping the MWC continue to be the best chapter in the silly little jeep club

The short version: I burnt out.
