Rew, I thought you already had a front locker in the Cheesy axle?
So this is an SDR type of radio?
Dual band VHF/UHF. Because the frs/gmrs channels are actually VHF frequencies and the marine channels are UHF frequencies, it's basically a big boy version of the handhelds with the fixed antennas.
It's legality is a gray area. If the fcc knocks on your door it's not my fault.
FRS/GMRS are UHF. WX is VHF. Marine I don't know without my big book of radio geekery.Dual band VHF/UHF. Because the frs/gmrs channels are actually VHF frequencies and the marine channels are UHF frequencies, it's basically a big boy version of the handhelds with the fixed antennas.

I'll post the links tonight when I get home from the MacBook. There's about 4 things you need to read and you need the $6 cable from Amazon.
Marine is VHF. I want to say 156-163.
agreed that it's perfectly fine if you don't key the mic. I can't imagine anyone using the FRS/GMRS frequencies would ever get a visit from the FCC either, as they're not where anyone that knows is looking.
Roll out on the VHF bands though.....
I need to get my test done next month so I can move forward with my long range video downlink stuff.
Just have to put the callsign in the OSD.
What do they call these wheels?

That allocation would make sense. WX is ~162...
Stay away from transmitting in public service bands.. Both VHF and UHF have PS bands in the area where this radio can transmit. Nothing will get Johnny Law and the FCC on you quicker.
