the pins were sheered off. so it wouldn't unlock around corners. since it was the no slip the pins were not serviceable. I've been running it open.

Alright I need everyone's opinion. Would it be worth it to make or buy a steering box brace for the jeep? I've read both good and bad things about it. Everything is pretty new in the front end but I still have some popping sound coming from front. Also thought about putting a brace on the track bar mount as well and running it to passenger side frame. Any thoughts on this idea

So this is an SDR type of radio?

Dual band VHF/UHF. Because the frs/gmrs channels are actually VHF frequencies and the marine channels are UHF frequencies, it's basically a big boy version of the handhelds with the fixed antennas.

It's legality is a gray area. If the fcc knocks on your door it's not my fault.

If the FCC, DEA, ATF, EPA, FDA, DNR, or any agency comes knocking at my door, I will already know why...

FRS/GMRS are UHF. WX is VHF. Marine I don't know without my big book of radio geekery.

Those China radios don't have FCC type acceptance. In the hands of someone with an amateur license they are perfectly legal. For everyone else its a lot more muddy. As long as you don't transmit where you aren't legally entitled, you aren't violating any law. If you are transmitting where you are allowed and you interfere with someone else you are considered at fault due to the radio not having type acceptance.

Marine is VHF. I want to say 156-163.

agreed that it's perfectly fine if you don't key the mic. I can't imagine anyone using the FRS/GMRS frequencies would ever get a visit from the FCC either, as they're not where anyone that knows is looking.

Roll out on the VHF bands though.....

I need to get my test done next month so I can move forward with my long range video downlink stuff.

Just have to put the callsign in the OSD.

What do they call these wheels?

I'll post the links tonight when I get home from the MacBook. There's about 4 things you need to read and you need the $6 cable from Amazon.

I got the cable and 16" antenna for it. I'm gonna try and have the technician license by the crawl.

That allocation would make sense. WX is ~162...
Stay away from transmitting in public service bands.. Both VHF and UHF have PS bands in the area where this radio can transmit. Nothing will get Johnny Law and the FCC on you quicker.

Wow Pete Trasborg passed away.

He was the editor of JP...and my age...

well that kohler gen set I got from John is running.

Check valves in the fuel pump were stuck. It ran from a butter container of fresh gas and powered a grinder.
Dad's got to clean the tank, it's full of surface rust. It also needs new rubber isolators and the leaky fuel system fixed, but it will be a good unit for the flying club. This one is getting bolted to a 4x6x3 concrete block to keep it from walking off like the last one.

Now I've just got to fix my ancient Onan 4Kw. I think I may permanently mount it to this 4x4 trailer.

too many projects.

If I'm using my radio on a frequency I'm not licensed for, it's because there isn't any government left to come talk to me about it :patriot:

Pics look great rew, good job by all on the ad and photos.
