Important

See that's what I thought to about the cussing. Then I remembered that I grew up listening to alot of drug related music like pink floyd. Is that any different? Pink is one of my favorite bands because of this.

For the record I don't listen to the hard stuff with her in the car unless she's sleeping. Just have wondered if anyone did.

I mostly ask because the car driving past me had 2 kids in the back seat blasting cuss filled rap and me sitting next to them, an avid listener of hard rap, was playin a mickey mouse cd. So I wondered if I was being werid by not listening to what I want.

And yes I like hard rap. And no that does not mean all the crap that comes on the radio.

It stops being about what you want when you have kids to an extent. At least it is supposed to.

Would I rather listen to my stuff in the car? Sure. When the kids are on board the CD gets changed to Disney or church music. Can't shelter them forever though, my 9 and 7 year old already know most of the Top 40 songs because of the radio in their room.

Exactly, I do care about that stuff but not enough to do anything about it, only thing that pisses me off is trash can left at curb for some reason.

The city has been called many times about this guy (not once by anyone at my house). He complains about the neighbors calling on him.

We have a neighbor that buys up storage units and sells what's inside. So they have all kinds of junk and furniture and anything else you can think of sitting outside in front. It's bad enough that most of the time they can't close the garage door cuz it's all falling outside the garage. Looks like a dump.

These are also the same people who we called the county on for running a business in a residential area. They were doing boat remodeling and would have anywhere from 5-8 boats sitting in front yard all torn apart.

Plus they leave garbage cans at the road all week long.

Me either...I decided to help a friend out who needed a ride and had to get him a few hours earlier than I wanted to get to NYC. Tried to take a nap in my jeep before the parking garage opened, but sleeping on the side on an NYC city street is pretty much impossible from the front seat

To hell with HOA's, my neighbors across the street do yard work every day and their yard is awesome and they don't bitch about ours. Also, Thanks to all the vets! I appreciate your service! :patriot:

Never had either, passed both coming back from Knoxville. Might stop and get some when I go pick my mom up in Cincinnati. She's flying up to surprise my brother before he moves to Phoenix. My chili is probably way better but its hard to mess up chili.

See the thing with me is i have a very wide varity of music that i listen to. also i am very passionate about music as in i listen to music more than i dont. i would assume this passion would grow on to her if i always have it on then she would grow up always listening to it.

it ranges very heavily from jam bands to rap to blues to classic rock.

it avoids country 100%. not sure why i just cant stand counrty.

the part that tweaks me out is if i countine to avoid listening to the hard rap and shelter her from it, is she going to one day be a 15 year old looking through my stuff and be mind blown that daddy has more hardcore rap cd's than anything else? i feel like that is damn near lying to the kid her whole life...
like oh by the way, your dad , who has been playing blues and jam bands like Dave Mathews for you your whole life, yea he also is a big fan of all this stuff you have never even heard of...mind=blown

curious indeed

oh and Good morning!

When we travel I-75 we try to stop at Skyline near Cincy for a meal when we have time. We have the last couple years coming back from Harlan and when we've made our cabin trip to Gatlinberg.

We censor the bad words in the car or in the house. The boys love vevo, but they know they have to ask us first, since every kids bop song is a censored rendition of some chick shaking her ass.

I don't censor the music. We listen to rock like I did with my parents, pop and whatever else we like. Funny enough, country music sings about more inappropriate stuff than anything else. Listen to the words of those songs sometime and learn about sex, booze and violence.

I think it's important to make sure they don't hear things that they're going to repeat at school without understanding when and where to use those words. I'm not naive enough to think that they won't say them, but I want them to be mature enough to make sure they don't get in trouble when they do.

heading up to hand off cash for the 99 xj in a few hours...just need to make it a break even deal so the wife won't kill me, but i need a ton of parts off of it :( i'm giving $400 for it, so between scrap and selling the wheels/tires and some other bits i might be able to do it.

I just play the fM radio in the car with the kids. it gets easier, the boys know what not to say. you know me and the ole lady talk like we just walked off the ****ing black pearl. i watch parents drop their kids off at football blasting "hard core rap" and a couple of the kids will be sining on the sidelines censoring them self's. you cant keep it from them forever, i remember mom slapping the shit out of me for listing to fashion nugget by cake.

So with all the new baby announcements we decided to expand ourselves. We have a home visit with a local rescue shelter tomorrow for a pup that was on death row due to local shelters being over crowded. We meet Gretchen tomorrow evening and hopefully will start nursing her back to health after her PO (who better get what they deserve) stopped feeding her. Hopefully she gets along with our boys.
