absurdly cheap.

I am an evil american taking advantage of poor people in china.

Construction gurus...John, SeanR, etc...

We are doing a remodel on our main bathroom next week.

Our exhaust fan is in the wall and the exhaust goes down and exits via the basement because the access to the attic is almost non-existent in the main part of the house, so they were lazy.

I found a place in the hallway that I want to put an attic access stairway. Its going to go in 'against the grain' with the way the rafters run. Can I just cut those babies and frame it in for the attic access stair way? Or is my house going to split in half?

As long as it's not a truss roof, you should be fine.

What does that mean? Runners from the roof down to the ceiling?

This is being done in the original part of the house built in 1942.

Is it passive aggressive to put your neighbor's garbage can in the middle of his driveway? Bastard never takes it in so I figure this way he will at least have to move it to pull in his driveway.

Travis"Joey Ramone"Rafferty live on stage yesterday in Chicago.
I always thought it was a pipe dream he had to play in a band, but they are doing quite well and are playing quite a few shows now.
And, yes, that is the same guitar that he was playing at winterfest years ago!

I got to say, if you do not know the difference between a truss and a rafter you should leave it alone.
If they are not trusses, and your hallway walls are load bearing then yes, you might be able to cut them, head them off and put in a pull down stair.
But if you do not know what you are doing your house may fall down.....
Sorry I can't answer better.

I would need a drawing to tell you. Listen to the pros, not me.

I hate engineers. It doesn't matter how much money you spend on your silly project, the damn wrench still doesn't fit in there.

Red 'mechanic' heep

This is one of the many reasons I think people should be required to work as a grease monkey for several years before designing anything mechanical. If it can't be serviced, it's a bad design.

I am looking at you, idiots who put the starter motor on a 4.7L Toyota Tundra motor under the intake manifold. $150 part, $1000 labor.

I know the difference...just not familiar with John's term.

Don't you know? You inspected this house once.

Guilty.

You're too absorbed in what your neighbor is doing. Next you'll be hoa president.

I don't care what you do with your house, for some reason someone who leaves their garbage can at the curb really bugs me.

Bastards just parked in the street.
