Important

I assume that they used the 5.9 in three quarter tons.

I'd be looking for one of those. That or an old school 4 speed.

The bigger problem is making zj computers happy with something non electronic. Can you swap vss stuff into a NP 240 series case ?

Probably a way to make it work, I would worry more about the governor pressure sensor and solenoid signals.

True.
I wonder if someone that programs dcx could remove all the auto trans stuff.

Could always go squirt
Then you'd have to go dumb gauges

Never knew that about Jasper. My tuner can and has made tunes for manual swaps. I plan on dropping coin on the transmission and expected to. Just feeling out my options.

What about a 727? Those cheaper to build?

Its a 3sp, but are you driving it down the highway?

mac 'no idea on the strength of the truck trans vs the 5.9 zj trans' gyvr

I would like to run an old school 4spd if the ax15 ever explodes in the mj. But if Tim's ax15 is setting the curve it may never happen....

A 465/231/300 doubler would be fun.

727 is about the same as the 46 strength wise. The 46 in the zj is the same as the 46 in the gas dodge 2500 5.9 minus the starter location.

I'll just send the spare 46RE to firepunk and have them do the comp build with a bolt in sprag instead of the press in sprag. I already have a sweet valve body and converter and won't have to change anything else. There is a NV3500 on CL from a dodge 1500 so I thought if kick that idea around but I'll stick with the auto. Stick with the auto... Haha

I would like to upgrade the t case while I'm at it though. I'm thinking a 231/300 also with 4:1 in the 300, or a NP241OR, or find a used atlas...
The wheels are just turning in my head today.

The locks are stuck trying to lock with the lock motors steadily pushing to lock. Draining the battery and making it almost impossible to unlock and open the rear doors.

Yeah I'd focus on the lock triggers from the DDM, and the OCM. It's either got to be a short, or one of the modules bad... I'm betting the DDM since it get used the most...

Make sure it isn't carrier locked. I forget if cdma phones can do that.

Verizon does, and depending on how old the phone is may have it locked..

You know there is a Pick-N-Pull in Columbus, several Pull-A-Parts in the Akron/Canton?Cleveland area. Can't say they have the trans you're looking for, but both places are quoting right around a bill for a tranny...

anyone ever heard of lumigrid? mounting a couple would be a neat idea for a night run. especially in the snow.

I'm pretty sure you can't kill an AX15 behind a 4 liter.
i did... :anon:

When I pulled up to the gas station this morning the brand new Chevy next to me was pumping out Diana Ross so loud that it was vibrating my windows. An older guy, approx 65, walks out of the station and headed twoards the truck and I nodded and said "get ya sum!"......he replied, already got it. He won.
