No XJ has a BCM.

Modules in XJs:
ECU - on 4.0 equipped vehicles, controls engine
TCU - on 4.0/AW4 equipped vehicles, controls transmission
PCM - on 2.5/standard vehicles, controls engine. on 2.5/auto vehicles, controls engine and transmission.
IP - dumb gauges on 96 and earlier, computer module that pulls data off the CCD bus and displays it on the gauges on 97 and later.
ABS HCU - controls the ABS system.
ACU/ACM - controls the airbag system.

ZJs have BCMs as well... XJs don't. Anyone who says an XJ has a BCM doesn't know what they are doing with XJ electrical.

Oh, there is also an RKE module and/or an OHC module on vehicles with remote keyless entry and/or overhead consoles.

You forgot about the DDM (Drivers door module) and the PDM (Passenger door module).

The power lock control circuitry is in the PDM. The DDM provides a path to ground to the signal the PDM to lock/unlock the doors.

Shit, yeah, I did. I was only counting the ones that are on a comms bus though - to the best of my knowledge the door modules don't have CCD or SCI bus access, right?

Correct. They are for the most part self contained, and don't talk to any other modules except for the Overhead module. It's all done via separate signal wires between the modules. Nothing over the CCD Buss. Pretty easy to trouble shoot the system really...
