Important

Bought a new battery for my jeep. Bought a 78 series with side and top mounts. 850 CCA figure i can put the factory wires on the side and then the winch and accessories on the top mounts.

Re: Re: Important

This sounds good. Gives me time to build up some money for one.
I think I need a 60 out of an 84-86 "slantnose" Ford truck.

Edit: Dammit. Was supposed to be edit button...

Transmission....?

Winner! The torque converter, or pump, or something is screaming in every gear and pouring fluid out of the bellhousing. I've been putting it off but it's finally time. And now I'm on NAXJA, putting it off a little longer. :D

What are we doing to the zj Brad? Lift maybe

I wish... that's fun Jeep work! Be glad you have a V8 ZJ, I think they are a lot more durable as long as you don't let Jason drive it.

Lol hey now your jeep looked way worse than mine after the crawl haha

Will the 87 through like 91 or so f350 front 60 fit too?

Just to give you an idea of what I can get them for, I have paid:
130 bucks for a 96 balljoint 60
130 bucks for a 94 balljoint 60
130 bucks for a 95 balljoint 60
150 bucks for an 87 kingpin 60

All Fords.

130 bucks for a 92/93 kingpin dodge 60
900 for a 94 dodge 2500 5.9/nv4500/np241dld/d60 front/d60-1su drum brake rear, with a working snowplow on it.

I sold the balljoint 60s for anywhere from 250 to 400. Sold one to a buddy including the leaf springs and full steering plus track bar for 200 just because I wanted it gone after I got my new job and wasn't flipping parts to pay the bills.

I cut up the dodge kingpin 60 for a super secret project.

Sold the dodge balljoint 60 for 75 bucks because that is all they are worth around here. Cut up the truck, did a quick dirty partout of everything I didn't want, ended up with a 5.9/nv4500/np241dld/both driveshafts w/ everything including wiring still on the engine for a total of 270 bucks. If I had waited longer on some stuff or known what it was worth I could have broken even and gotten my stuff for free.

I can get basically any 60 in the yard for 150 or less, plus sawzall blades, angle grinder wheels, and blood/sweat. This is why I love the northeast.

I saw a dodge kingpin 60 (pillaged for parts), three or four ford super 60s in varying states of disassembly (most missing just rotors/calipers), and I think I remember seeing a ford balljoint regular 60 as well. Left em all because I was too lazy to pull them that day and didn't have a trailer or pickup with me.

I don't charge friends for labor, unless you want to toss in enough for a rack of brews and gas or something. Not looking to make any money here, that's what the day job is for.

- Ken "everyone tells me a 78-79 60 is worth 900+ bucks, and an 80s kingpin 60 is worth 700, and a balljoint 60 is worth 500, but very few are willing to pay that" Stein

Need some thoughts here. Ben and I have a completely established home. We don't need the typical "wedding registry" items. I was thinking we should register at Lowes or Menards for the material to build a garage. What ya think??

This is what my sister did and she is very happy with it. That's the way to go! You can always get new towels and blenders :)

I was on a road called Random Ct. today, then I turned on Random Dr.

Flex, you have some weird street names where you live.

Well got a question for some of the electrically smart people on here. Our pop up camper has got a 15amp circuit breaker in it and am thinking of upgrading it to a 30 amp breaker. If I do this will I also have to upgrade the wiring that goes to the electrical outlets in the camper? Just trying to get this ready for wf and was wondering if this would be a good idea or not. Got a buddy that has the 30 amp breaker with cord that would sell it for cheap.

Yes, you would. The breaker's job is to protect the wiring that is after it, so that the wires don't catch fire. For instance your wires are more than likely 14 gauge which requires a 15 amp breaker to protect them. If you wanted to run a 30 amp breaker, you would need 10 gauge wire.

I'm not sure how your camper is wired, but you could possibly upgrade the wiring up to your circuit breaker and panel, and then have two more breakers - one going to your existing wiring, and another going to a dedicated outlet.

Damn... You coming to Winterfest Ken??
Nope, sorry. Wish I could but it isn't in the cards this year... I'm in Minnesota this weekend and a certain visitor from Minnesota up in my neck of the woods on the same weekend as WF, so there's no way I'll be in Indiana.

Maybe next year. WF12 was a blast, last year I was far too broke to make it, this year I'm far too busy.

So you are saying to just leave the stock 15 amp breaker and install the 30 amp breaker next to it and just run a 30 amp outlet off of it?
