Amazon prime is the shit. Just ordered yellow top for jeep, it will be here Wednesday. Got it cheaper delivered than going to autozone and using my $20 rewards credit.

So with the trade of the F350 and the trailer for the RV I'm without a truck. Most of the time, this is really a non-issue. However there are times that I could use a truck, I do have a 5x8 single axle pos trailer that I can hook up to one of the Jeeps to use as a truck bed from time to time. The problem is that I don't have anything really to tow my trailer with beside the RV. I can use the 5.9, but if it were a trip without the RV and I took the 5.9 and the trailer with the LJ, that would leave her nothing to drive if she didn't come...it unlikely she'll ever run errands in the RV.

It would also be nice to have a truck to jump into and pull the trailer to go pick up the next xj/zj/whatever vehicle to buy and fix up and flip too. They all aren't always going to run.

So, since I have a pending sale with money down on whitey, I've been browsing trucks. I don't need a diesel, and with almost $1 a gallon difference and all the maintenance, I don't really want one. Realistically, I'm looking at putting 5k a year on a truck...at the most and the biggest load would be the LJ and trailer, about 7k.

I've found several nice 2wd F250 ext cabs out there (almost all under 200k miles in my price range). 95-97 body style. I like that style truck and they are livable. Not sure I can see myself in a 2wd, but outside of this winter, its usually manageable around here. Also can't decide if the 351 or the 460 is a better deal (power vs stopping at the gas station). The 2wds seem to have less rust too. Most of the 4x4s are rust buckets. The late 90s/early 00s F150s all have over 200k in my price range, which is what got me searching f250s...

Here's a pic of the style I'm considering for the F250s.

Personally I would get 4x4 there are time you are going to wish you had it. If you are looking in that age range why not buy a one way ticket to Texas or down south and drive a clean rust free truck back? I think it would be worth the cost of a plane ticket not to deal with rust.

I use it ALL the time.

If your TV is connected to the intardnet you get TV too through amazon, movies, shows, not as in depth as Netflicks, but close.

I'll look at the southern trucks. I have a pretty strict budget and time free. I could flip another Jeep to get a bit more money, but the one I found that I would be interested in, is two hours away and doesn't run...so a truck would be helpful :)

If I wait too long, this money will get spent somewhere else on something else...

The truck pictured above is about 150-180k miles for $3500 obo. Not much difference in the 351 or 460 for price.

The 4x4s with rust are $5000 up here.

Mac...I'm sort of in the same boat. I want to get a cheap truck and a decent trailer for moving jeeps...and it would be nice to have something that could haul an enclosed trailer full of goose decoys when needed...out here there are a bunch of 01-05 gm/Chevy 2500 trucks for cheap. I know you're a ford guy, but if I can find one with a 6.0 and 4x4 that's in my price ranger after Saturday (closing day for our house) then it will come home with me. I'm even considering trading the mj partially on one. It would be a lot more useful to me right now.

Mac, we have owned a couple 460's around the farms and I can say that I would stick with the 351.....or at least not rule it out. Dual tanks on a 460, and you need them! I swear that ours had 2" gas lines! 2wd trucks around here are cheap bc no one wants them. I will keep my eyes open.

Need some thoughts here. Ben and I have a completely established home. We don't need the typical "wedding registry" items. I was thinking we should register at Lowes or Menards for the material to build a garage. What ya think??

Heh, I have been told the 460 loves the fuel...which also makes them cheaper on the buy in.

2wd makes them cheaper, especially right now.

Sounds like a perfect plan to me.

Even with the sales tax we now have to pay in Indiana, they are still way cheaper than most palces.

As far as instant video goes, I guess it only works if your tv was made last year or earlier......2014 no workie......

We use the video through the wii...

So if you have wii or the new wii or xbox or roku maybe? Not sure but a bunch of that stuff will support it.

I will give wii a shot, want to watch homeland.

just got a call from our lender saying we FINALLY cleared underwriting...it was a lot of bs paperwork and they kept finding more things they wanted from us, BUT, we are good to close as long as there are no issues with the titling of the house from the previous owner.

it is about 2 weeks later that what we were supposed to be cleared for financing, but better late than never. after saturday we will be homeowners!

you have to go to the wii store and get the amazon app I think. Then you get a number to put on the computer to register the device with amazon.

We figured it out, so I have faith.

no more than you would really use it, I am sure either route would be fine...just figure it cost you @ $1500/ yr to drive it minus oil changes etc. 5000 miles per yr / @10 mpg x @ $3/gal = $1500 Comapre that to a diesel at $100 oil changes, high upkeep etc. you are still $ ahead......which I am sure you are well aware of. Dad always said that the 460's could pull anything....as long as there were gas stations along the way!
