Important

call rourk for grinding /cuttoff wheels. They are better than anything I have bought from HF, HD or lowes.....

I'll do that next time I need some. I'm pretty well stocked for now.

I have grabbed up a few tools from HF that I know I won't use a lot. Like a cutting tool or die grinder. I don't use them often so if they last 2 years being used 5 times, I don't care much about replacing them. Most of my core tools are Craftsman or Mac with some small amounts of Matco and even smaller amounts of Snap-On littered in.

When I worked at the Chevy garage in Indiana the Snap-On dealer was a real shithead and the Matco guy was kind of a tool. The Mac guy was very easy to deal with and was even helpful the other day when I had a question for him about warranty. If Sears had mobile tool trucks, I would have likely owned nearly all Craftsman. Good bang for the buck.

I try to stay out of our local HF on principle of them not allowing concealed carry in their store, but some things are just too good to pass up.

I buy cheap stuff like wire loom, zip ties etc from HF, but as far as tools, not much of anything that I woudl depend on for fixing something in the field...I view most as disposable (like Josh said about the grinder). I picked up some tire spoons.....they did not last one mounting.

Were you the big spoon or the little spoon? It makes a difference.

I have ran into a few hose clamps that strip out as soon as you snug them down.

I usually stock up on fuses and relays when I hit the junkyard.

Yup I don't have good luck with their hose clamps either, but it might be all the torque my arms are delivering...

lots of big and little fuses and relays from the junk yard myself...they don't seem to care.

This guy not sure why he is not listed on the sponsors page (pretty sure he still is?)?

He donated to the giveawayxj build with supplies but I don't recall if he was a sponsor for 2013 sponsorship program. There were two different things to donate towards.

mac 'Harbor freight grinding discs are decent...only have had a couple cut off wheels self destruct' gyvr

His name is still blue so I figured he was a sponsor.

agreed...I have tried the cheap ones...they detonate or vaporize in no time.

I don't use HF cutoff wheels, they have cancer warnings on them. I have enough carcinogens in my lungs already. I use Heleta cutoffs, get em in bulk for 53 cents each and they seem to do pretty well.

With enough lube on the bead I mounted a tire by hand with HF spoons... went pretty smoothly in fact. Went horribly last time I tried without enough lube, I bent the damn spoons then and almost gave them away.

Didn't click your link...

I'm not sure I've been letting someone else handle most of the sponsorship...

mac 'I'll ask' gyvr

no lube on the virgin 39.5's and it was a bear....lube is your friend......always.

Mention of bears, virgins, and lube in the same sentence concerns me, but yes, I agree :laugh2:
