eh not as bad as i thought.....

Unless you buy the new one.

I have a plastic bin full of good ones in my garage (seriously, like seven of them)

I keep thinking somebody with an older jeep will want to upgrade.

Guess I don't need to worry about buying one for awhile.

I sat through a 2 hour debat on a union contract today. In a local economy where 300 people at a different company, that makes a similar product, just got layed off it amazes me what people think they deserve for how little they do. I need to start exploring my options...

'Nother perfect morning here, 40 degrees out on the drive in. 3rd morning in a row, I think fall is here.

P.S. If I somehow make it to WF this year (speculative) I am going to have a lot of libations to go around...

Okay guys, last year I was able to find a pdf and/or .doc of the original Sun VAT40 Instruction Manual doing a google search. I found our VAT40 here, however, the instructions are completely trashed. I can show the demo, but I always have the instructions laminated for the students to refer to when testing cars.... I like making them use 'old tech' but it works well and is easy to understand. Anyone have these instructions or a link to a .doc/pdf??? I can't seem to find it and with a school computer, I can't check some of the places I normally would...

I'm hoping to get a day or two off work this week and actually work on this Jeep. I can't find weldable or weld-through primer anywhere, has anyone used cold galvanizing spray instead?

I can't even find parts for them anymore. I had 3 taken apart this summer, ended up just pulling one apart for parts and got the other two in good shape.

I might have a manual from the 80's laying around somewhere at the shop. I do agree that that old tech is essential for understanding the underlying concepts.

Exactly, the analog gauges really help the students realize what is going on in the system. I found on online version last year and printed several copies for my old school. Of course I can't locate the file or the website any longer. I think the instructions I currently have are from the 80s. They were laminated at one point but that has completely come undone and they're tattered and stained with grease, oil, trans, etc...

I may end up eventually, Sarah has a 360 so I have a console to use it on.
