Important

Have all the parts for the cj5 build now except the adaptor and shaft to go from the th350 to the 231. Looks like that will cost me $300-500...

I was up around the New Sharon area...or so they told me, It was between Oskaloosa and New Sharon out in the county about 15-20 miles.... and not a single damn sheep.

Cheese "more machinery to stuff in the shed...I need a new shed" Man

nice...the little bro has some goose hunting ground out that way. did you take 63 home? if you did, i'll bet you made a lot of new friends!

a farmer can never have too many sheds....most of my farmer friends from iowa have a pile of equipment and trucks that sit outside, so their new sheds are filled before they even build them

Why don't you build a case for it using the front half of a 231c, swap some internals, clock it and call it a day?

Good Idea, especially since I had a 231c, only I scraped it a couple months ago after taking some internals out... Plus I have a 2wd th350 so it don'es have the right tail on it, plus it also needs the 23 spline output shaft.

Are you sure you're not just talking to an AI that is simulating multiple personalities? :jester:
Nah, it was a real person. Just too busy to bang out an email quickly...

3 days to get back to me on an item on Armslist. Dude didn't want what I have. After all that...

TH350 is a 27 spline output, though the shaft lengths are different between the 2wd and 4wd trans. All you need to do is a 27 spline input gear with correct gear cut (i believe '94 was the transition year) on the planetary set in the tcase and swap or cut the output shaft in the trans to the correct length. Not saying you have to do it that way, but just an option. :)

Correct, but I'd still need the tail adapter to mount up to the 231. It'll be a couple months before I'm to the point where I need those particular parts so I'm still looking at all the possibilities.

Re: Re: Important

Who is using what sway bar discos and how do you like them?

I made my own...after driving the gold xj 200 miles without them, I am glad that I have them. I haven't had much of an issue getting mine in or out ever. I used wj links IRO brackets and pins. Cost about $30 to make but I'm not sure they are long enough for 5.5"

I have RoughCountry Discos on the LJ.
http://www.roughcountry.com/swaybar-disconnects_1128.php

Positive: Cheap, Adjustable, Comes with storage bracket.
Negative: Lower bushing does not swivel.
Sum: Positive. 2000X better than a set of old style RE discos!

Have these on the XJ:
http://jksmfg.com/c-381013-shop-by-vehicle-cherokee-xj-swaybar-swaybar-disconnects.html

Positive: Awesome Disconnect! You can just about be flexed up and get these off! Adjustable, greasable.
Negative: Price, no storage pegs (Order an extra set of pegs and make bracket).
Sum, better than RC disco's but 3X the cost.

For the amount the LJ gets disconnected the price point sold me.

I installed the RC ones right before I came to WF 2011. They were both trash when I left Attica that Sunday. Haven't run any since.

I've dd'ed 3 xj's and mj without a sway bar. I've never saw the need, I'm not racing with flex and his neon.

But if you're gonna get one I say anti rock to fulfill your balls status yo!

I ran without one on the ZJ for 2 years, hooked it back up and man it drove 100x better.

The 96 has a set of Rusty's (?) old style discos. Not really quick or easy, but they work.
