The Drummond Island trip sounds like fun; hope you and your's enjoy the trip.
Never been there myself, but I hear good things. I figure if I have to travel more than 5.5 hours, the wheeling better be mind blowingly wicked.

We are going alone is the only crappy part, so if I can't find a good group to wheel with we are sticking to easy trails. The scenery is definitely worth it though from what I hear. Never been myself.
I am heading up by crandon in a few hours. Got my kayak loaded up and all the fishing stuff ready. A coworker is into dual sport motorcycles and just had a run up there, he gave me his directions list as it was all dirt roads so I am looking forward to exploring some new areas this weekend.

I went to Drummond once all by myself, slept in the bus off the side of a two track. It took me less than an hour to find someone local to show me the island. They're super nice up there.

I don't usually spend too much time drinking while fishing. Sometimes, but not usually. We typically drink lots after we get off the lake. Unless we're fishing off the pier, shore or rocks, then I don't mind taking the drunk with the fish.
