Important

I parted an XJ out that had a TJ motor in it. The only thing I noticed that was odd was a weird piece of metal that stuck out by the crank pulley. The belt was rubbing on it. Looked like a mount for something else that wouldn't interfere if the belts were routed a little different.

to do a wj swap easily, you need a wj/tj motor of similar years. i don't think you can use a tj motor previous to 99 without a lot of manifold weirdness. problem is, tj and wj 4.0's after 99 are not easy to come by. you can modify any 4.0 to work but an xj or zj motor is not even close to a bolt in operation. motor mounts, manifold plumbing and wiring are all different...that being said, i don't own a wj or a tj, so i cant really speak for it.

sweet...its nice to see friends of mine having success :) krysta is about the nicest person i've met in the city and i've know her since we first moved here. i saw her a few weeks ago and she told me about this show. not her first broadway show, but its getting a lot of press. she was also wednesday adams in the chicago and broadway production of Adams Family...not that any of you will be in nyc any time soon to see the show, but it does sound fairly entertaining

Yup, we go every year. Have not been to the crab shack, but I will check it out.

I take this back we did go there a couple years ago, but they didn't fry anything so we have not been back.....talk about an unhappy fat boy when I sat down and found out they din't fry their food.

Word is they now have a fried menu so I may stop back by there next week.

My neighbor has a couple dogs, one of them is a boxer. Today while in the backyard, the boxer jumped the 8' high wood fence.

I have a question for anyone that read the unicorn project thread i started back a while ago.

if you where in my shoes with this rig, and someone was interested in buying it from you, for the price you paid, would you sell it?

for a reminder. the unicorn is an 86 with a 4.2 motor out of a 79cj. it is an unfinished project and currently does not run. it needs a bunch of work to get running, but for the most part i have all the parts.

if this were to go down i would build up the silver 01 with the 6.5in lift, upper and lower control arms, sye, rocker rails, front and rear bumpers, and just about every skid plate available, all that i already have, just sitting on the garage floor.

a big con to this is that the silver 01 is my family ride, this would force me to buy a vehicle because i would not want my family car to be that much of a built jeep...

i have some pondering to do.

i have some pondering to do.

why not just sell it and use the money to buy a different jeep to build?

personally if it were me i would either build it or spend the money on a different rig...if you want to get wheelin soon, buy a used xj and use the parts from your old rig. if you want to build a unique weirdo cool jeep that you can say you built the year your kiddo was born, keep working on the unicorn. it just boils down to how much free time you have and how much effort you want to put into it.

I would sell it, wash your hands of a bastard jeep that will without doubt give you headaches down the road.

I'm on my way to buy a 96 for $800 that is pretty clean to daily drive.

That is the stuff that happens when a boxer does not get enough exercise. They lose their brain. Do they complain that the dog is a terror in the house?

I personally have only interacted with the residence of the house once. It was only to tell them that the dogs were digging under the fence and that my grandma was scared that they would get out. She was worried that they would hurt her. I did send a facebook message (found out who owned the house via the Beacon website) to the owner to let him know he is able to jump it. If my dog did that, I would be adding an inward angle topper to the fence.

talked to the guy today and he is down. talked to my wife and she does not care as long as she has a nice car. talked it over in my head and i said, self you have not down anything with this thing in 2 years, you bought a bunch of parts that are just laying on the floor and can easily go in a different jeep and you will have problems with this that last the rest of however long you own it.

it should be gone soon.

now to lift the silver jeep or buy a new jeep.

i say new jeep...you can never have too many :) find a 98 or 99 with moderate miles and a decent body, lift it and beat it like a redheaded stepchild...no sense scratching up the pretty jeep
