Important

Re: Re: Important

Since this is the all knowing thread.

Lets talk RV ac units.

The one on the house side of my trailer is leaking water into the house. It's coming in through the air intake on the passengers side of ac unit.

I first thought it was freezing up, however it's still blowing cold air. This happens almost every trip but I always forget when I get home. I suspect the condenser drain is plugged. Problem is...I have no idea where that is located.

It's a 2005 (assume since that's the year of the trailer) Coleman-mach.

Should be 2 small drains up top. Have to remove the cover to get to them. They are probably clogged. Sometimes you can just run a piece of wire through them. The water should be draining off the roof.

Looked at an 01 Cherokee as a dd. The guy said it ran great and only had surface rust. I got there and it had a lot of rust that was a pot hole away from falling out. Started the motor and it had a major rod knock. Told him I would give him scrap price. He said no. On the way home he called me and said he would take $500 (original asking price was $1500), I told him I would give him $300, he said no again. My bet is he calls me within a few days and accepts.

I figured I'm gonna have to crawl up there and pull the cover...no ladder here...is it obvious where the drains are?

Yes. You will need to run it to see the standing water.

Cool, thanks, crawl up there on a nice day in the next couple weeks when I'm home.

Rod knock or horrible piston slap?

My 01 sounds like you threw a bucket of bolts in a dryer. It's always sounded that way.

Apple Valley Farms is still fun when wet.

Nice seeing Jeepmanwi there. Howdy Paul

I'm not sure why I damage stuff only when I run with other folks.
Ran all morning alone - no issue. Ran into some old trail buds, and 5 minutes later, I back up to get a better line on a muddy uphill mogul and slid a bit into a mud bank. The CB antenna snaps off at the base and a dent appears in the lower 1/4 panel.

Well, probably piston slap and rod knock. On start up and shut down its real bad, but when its running it certainly has rod knock. This motor is moments away from coming apart.

I keep finding nice looking WJ's with blowed up 4.7 v8s. Is there a decent alternative to that turd of a motor?

They're a great motor. Until you over heat them and the drop a valve seat.

I might be looking at one today. I have the guy to $500 said it runs really rough. I really hope it didn't drop a valve so it's a quick flip. Got my fingers crossed

Maybe altrocker and I should hit the JY and pull a half dozen $100 4.7s for you guys while the june motor sale is going on. It sounds like 4.7s from running/crashed jeeps and trucks would sell well in the midwest.

Or don't put oil in them...

Happy Fathers Day!

Finished cleaning house and hiding dangerous objects as having GF family over.

Fri: "Go wheeling tomorrow, I'll get everything done for my party"
^^^^^^^*** uh huh

I gave my nephew the 98 2 door a while back. We went wheeling at AVF (RPM4x4.com). He's been into mudding. By the time we left, he left mudding behind. Wants me to help him budget build his 98 so it will do the stuff we did.

Another one converted :D
