Liquidating a ton of Jeep Cherokee stuff...more to post in the next few weeks in the classified. I'll be going to the Badlands at the end of June and Harlan at the beginning of July.

Okay, WHAT IF I were to change my cps and engine harness from the 98?

am I looking at a huge job? would the internal jeep still communicate?

Plugs might be different.

A Texan, a Californian and a Seattlite were all drinking in a bar.

After a while, the Texan grabbed a bottle of tequila, threw it in the air and shot it into a thousand pieces. "Don't you boys worry about it," said the Texan, "we have plenty of tequila deep in the heart of Texas. "

The Californian, not wanting to be outdone, selected a bottle of fine wine, tossed it up, and shot it into smitherines. "Hey, don't sweat it dudes," chirped the Californian, "There's zillions of bottles of wine in Cali."

The Seattlite, following suit, guzzled down a bottle of micro-brewed beer, chucked it towards the rafters, shot the Californian, and (without missing a beat) pulled out his hand and caught the beer bottle. Everyone in the bar stood frozen in shock.
"Relax, kids," said the Seattlite cooly, "Up in Seattle, there's a freakin' shitload of Californians. No big deal."

Going into the CPU? They are not, I unplugged the 2001 and was able to plug directly into the 1998

No. Some of the plugs going to the sensors. Might have to do some splicing. I'm not positive though.

Some of the sensors are different; some should be the same. TPS and IAT swapped into my junk from a 99 or 00 donor, but the IAC didn't. I believe the later sensor was 4 wire, while my junk was 3 wire. I don't know about the rest; that's just stuff I noticed swapping intakes.

Well, being that I'm using the head/motor from a 98 I bought a new header because I didn't like how restricted the 01 manifold is. Now I'm wondering if I should rethink that thinking. Has anyone ran a cast manifold on an early head? I can still easily run two sensors in the exhaust like the 98.

this is usually about the time ken chimes in....

do you have the 98 dash, fuse block and ecu?

I just sent the money for that dana 44...my buddy is going to pick it up on sunday. here is the clist link for everything i'm getting

http://utica.craigslist.org/pts/3709866576.html

im going to be trading the gears for 4.10's but other than that i will just have to find some way to put it together. i have a buddy up here that does gears, so the set up shouldn't be hard. i may have to figure out someone who will weld the truss for me...i'm not 100% confident that i should be welding an axle yet...

i didn't give him his asking price, but i guess my offer was good enough :)

shouldn't need to swap the CPS... unless you mean the distributor thinger. I don't know anything about that.

If you swap, you'll need to swap the harness, O2 sensors and exhaust parts they go into (I think that's why you're doign it in the first place?), ECU, dizzy or cam positioning sensor. I'm not sure what else.

The differences between the 00+ and 99- ECUs are: 00+ have 3 ignition coil drivers instead of 1 (since they have 3 coils in the rail), 00+ also have different numbers of o2 sensor inputs and firmware changes to make allt hat work.

What I'd probably do, if I had the choice -
00 Fed emissions ECU
99- non-0331 head
Viper coil pack instead of the coil rail (check one of Talyn's threads on how to set this up)
00 Fed emissions harness. Might not even need this, I'd have to compare the 00 Fed and CA emissions diagrams to see which two o2 connectors you'd plug your sensors into.
leave the DIS how it is
99- exhaust manifold etc

And then just put the O2 sensors into the right spots, since the Fed emissions harness will only care about two sensors.

Kids get too smart, too quick.

Harrison can crawl in and out of his crib at will. I'm waiting to wake up with him slapping me yelling "Da-da!!"

He's become good at taking off his clothes and will do it most often when he's in bed and not sleeping. We've been duct taping his diaper on when he wears pants to bed and leaving it alone when we use a zip-up onzie. This morning I woke up to a completely naked baby who had thrown his stuffed monkey, Buddy at my head. He knows how to work zippers too, now.

Just this afternoon he learned how to tear the duct tape in the center of his diaper attaching tabs the way I do when I change it.

Glad he starts potty training soon.

Liquidated a ton of stuff today. Feelin good.

Now serious question. Is anyone interested in a 5.7 Hemi long block, oil pan to intake? In a crate and to my knowledge only been ran on a dyno.

I don't have any money... and have plans... but just so everyone knows, this will bolt to an AX15 or NV3550 using the bellhousing from a 3.9L V6 5-speed Dakota. Cheap and common at the junkyard.

It should bolt to an NV3500 or NV4500 from behind a 5.2/5.9 natively, as far as I know.

If that doesn't get anyone daydreaming... I don't know what will!

It also appears that MSD has an Hemi ignition controller and Indy has a Carb manifold for $399.

I know its worth some coin but I'm not looking to get rich. Shoot me an offer

You could sim the downstream o2 sensors, weld in some bungs for the upstream sensors. I'm running a coil pack off a 07 wrangler and 99 plug wires on my '01 and it runs great except for the slight miss at idle its had forever. Will have to make an adapter for the 99 header to the newer exhaust though.
