Important

My tentative plan is to plug two o2 sensors, rewire the other 2 sensors down stream and run the <99 header. I will live with the check engine light on.

Any reason this won't work?

Drill two holes for the upstreams in the header. Weld in bungs. Run them.

Drill two holes for the downstreams. Weld in spark plug nonfoulers (Advance Auto Help section), insert downstream o2s. Run them.

No CEL. 4 holes, some welding, and $15 in hardware

^This. Nonfoulers work.

This is what I get for not hanging around here much... Missed the chance to buy Rev's Jeep. Who bought it? Not like I'd have the money. It is the chance that matters...

Seeing as certain era's are coming to an end, I thought I'd share a slightly less momentous one: I'm leaving the Midwest and moving the family to Colorado (outside of Denver) in July. Already signed the lease; got a new gig lined up and already planning on a canoe trip in August. Just wanted to say thanks to all of you for the years of entertainment. I hope I provided some too along the way.

This is no small change, other than 2-1/2 non-contiguous years I've either lived in Indiana or Illinois my whole life. As it is... Lafayette, IN->Attica, IN->West Lafayette, IN->Elmira, NY->Gary, IN->West Lafayette->Ft. Leonard Wood, MO->Hammond, IN->Chicago, IL. Briefly thought I should move to Lafayette, CO but its too far from the wife's gig.

Cheers!

GoSlowGetStuck bought Rev's Jeep. I don't know if he's 100% sure what he's gonna do with it, but through our multiple options, one of them we discussed was keeping it for a weekend cruiser.

It was good to meet you this past Winterfest. Don't be a stranger, man! Pop in here from time to time and if you can ever make it back to WF, you know you're more than welcome!

You could sim the downstream o2 sensors, weld in some bungs for the upstream sensors. I'm running a coil pack off a 07 wrangler and 99 plug wires on my '01 and it runs great except for the slight miss at idle its had forever. Will have to make an adapter for the 99 header to the newer exhaust though.

Problem with running sim downstreams is that (reportedly) the XJ ECUs that use downstream sensors at all use their average value as the "goal" voltage for the upstream. So if you do that, you may or may not have crap fuel economy (well, crappier than it would be otherwise) as a result of the goal voltage not being based off anything in the real world.

Jack nice seeing you agn @ WF.
You'll like the Denver area. Nice folks, lots to see and do. The front range should be a rock hounds paradise :D

Josh and Ron,

Thanks for the nice notes. I'm looking forward to the transition and meeting new people out in the CO Chapter. I'm sure I'll continue to read the postings here and shake my head at them. I was skimming things yesterday trying to catch up and all I remember is something about sandblasting and how it'll make you itch after a poop. Maybe I'm getting those mixed up somehow.

...but if not. Yeah, I bet it would itch.

Took the quad out today to the Cliffs. Fell off, got ran over, got stuck a bunch, got really wet, and ripped the ass out of my pants something fierce.

Still a good day

No problem, Jack. I read the CO chapter's Guns and Ammo thread...they're some good folks over there. I'm sure you'll fit in. I imagine you'll have plenty of places to take your rock hammer to and find you some nice specimens.

Back on the subject of pooping... I saw the best bumper sticker ever this evening. I'm only speeding because I really have to poop.

I lol'd.

Hey i ripped the ass out of mine too!!!!!!!! And Ben's crying Coz my Jeep is bigger. GREAT DAY!!!!! :D

I've got an active imagination, shouldn't be hard. There are billions of pics on the internet though, I'm sure I could find something comparable.
Seriously though, I'd like to see the Jeep and this dude that was crying...

Lol! That is awesome! Zipties are transcendent to duct tape! They have a locking feature.
