I've never used a torque wrench on a jeep lug nut and never had a wheel come off, though I'm probably tightening them to like 150 or something.

When I took Ag Mech in high school, we had a small engines course. My instructor knew I was decently inclined and told me I wouldn't be able to get my B&S running again. I proved him wrong for an A+.

Still, that was a complete tear down and rebuild...It was nearly as good as new parts after I had cleaned everything. Who wants to do that as maintenance?! Honda's reputation is stellar by comparison. If I ever get into buying stuff like that, I'll be looking at Hondas.

I don't even own a torque wrench. I used Torq Sticks at the dealerships I worked at. I more than likely over-torque now just using the impact, but I've never had a lug nut come off. :knocks on wood:

Bec got her Dyson earlier last week. Today I got my grill, a Char-Broil 4 burner with an additional side burner. Also picked up a h.d. cover and the electric rotisserie attachment. After using my gift cards, I only paid $16.

Also looks like we're getting the trans and tcase from DrMoab (Ryan) so we're still looking for someone to get it off the truck from him. I'll try and pay ya something for your troubles...

I ruined 2 tractor drive rims (about $500 between them....) by over torquing the lug bolts. With the snap-on duals installed and discing down corn stalks in the fall, the inner drive tires are basically not really touching the ground. The stretched lug bolts would pop the heads off, and ruin the bolt circle. Fine thread bolts, and found out that the spec was only around 75 ft/lbs. With the 3/4" drive SK ratchet, I was probably up around 3x that.

My riding mower is a troy bilt with a BS in it. It's gummed up again and won't start after sitting for the winter.

Pulled my push mower out with the honda in it and it fired up in one pull.

I think I'm just going to get a new one. Lowes and tractor supply are right next to each other. I need to do the concrete, the house and the jeep before I start welding rockers and stiffeners.

Same here, my Honda push mower started right up with one pull after sitting all winter.

I've kept a turkey Baster in my shed and swap out the fuel from my summer tools to my snowblower every year.then run till it stalls out. Since I started doing that I haven't had to take apart a carb in quite a long time.
The small engine manufacturers now say that the new EPA gasolines are so bad for their engines that they want you to do that after each use. I haven't gone that far yet.

<shrug> Always had pretty good luck with B&S engines on the farm. And I'm pretty sure that both the green painted lawn mower & snowblower I have here are both built by B&S. They both start pretty good.

A little residual damage from winterfest...

Anyone have a used ring and pinion for a hi pinion D44 reverse cut for the front?

What ratio? I think I have a set of 3.55s but I doubt you're running that.

Damn, that sucks. I guess it's a good thing that I only run cheap crappy rims and keep an eye on my lugs.

Bought a 99 tonight with a hole in a piston. $600 perfect condition except for the grill and header panel had an argument with a tree.

Salvage title due to a theft so I'm pretty sure it will become a parts jeep.

I hit my lugs till my impact quits turning them. Never lost one yet.

This^

I haven't started my mowers yet...

mac 'this week...maybe' gyvr

I gave 5 or 6 small gas engines. I always put straight gas, no ethenol, in them at the end of the season and put Stabil in the tank. I fill them full of gas run them for a minute or so then shut the gas valve off and let them shut off from lack of gas. I have never torn one apart and they alway start six months later.

all this talk of small engines. I was going to get the mower out this weekend, but then said F it because the city has 50% of my yard torn up. What am I going to do, mow gravel?

in unrelated news, wienerbox gets new tires today. Yay no tread separation.

edit:
was the board down for anyone else last night and this morning?

Bounced the server due to load issues this morning. I need to figure out which/what bot is hammering the server around 0730 Central.

It wasn't me.... Or was it... >8D

Thinking I should have followed my instincts and stayed home today... Ohh well I probably caught this bug from one of the miscreant, I mean students, so I might as well 'share the wealth'...
