the bears that is...they have played a few good teams, and have a lot of good teams to go.

what was the score against the colts again...i cant remember :D

I agree about the shootings lately. My Dad made a good point that all the violent games like Battlefield, Grand Theft Auto, that are out and there is not as much parental guidance being done. It's probably some teen to early 20's guy or guys who have no care for human life.

Don't get me wrong I've played those games and enjoy them. I have some of the 6-9 year old boys I coach for little league playing these games at home. The parents buy the games for them!

Has he hurt or killed anyone yet?

Last I read a few days ago, the first injury had been tallied, no fatalities as of yet. There are a LOT of people keeping their eyes & ears open.

Yep, what Jeff said.

To the best of my knowledge, there have been no more shootings since he hit that guy, my thought is he's smart enough to know the stakes have risen and quit. I hope.

It's also rather telling that they (*cough* several MWC members) took things much more seriously and wrote up quality "about me" threads much sooner than the people they are running against. And haven't created gimmicky campaign avatar images and generally treated the whole thing like a big joke.

I am still undecided in the director at large vote - I'll wait for Goatman's thread and the answers I get to the question(s) I posed.

Yeah, you don't get paid being and it is a thankless job like you said in my thread but of course i'm gonna take it seriously. I may joke around on here a lot but I don't want anyone to think i'm not going to take my position on the BoD seriously if I am elected. Goatman is a great choice and I wouldn't blame you one bit for voting for him, if you feel he is the better choice then by all means pick him, I won't be upset.

I don't value human life too much, but the cost of ammo is a concern. i wouldn't waste it.

A friend used to work at a video game place and sold those types of games. It was close to Christmas and one of the GTA titles was new. He had a lady come into the store with her son who was about 7 or 8 and asked for that game. He asked if it was for her son, when she said yes refused to sell her the game because of that. The mom stood there with her mouth hanging open in disbelief and then started to say something about she being his parent and knowing what is best. My friend told her obviously she had no idea how to be a parent if she was letting him have that game and tossed her out the store. She called the next day and complained to the manager about my friend not selling her the game. The manager told my friend that he would be fired after Christmas for refusing to sell the game. He quit the next day and informed the district manager. He was rehired by the DM and the store manager was reassigned to a different store.

I've played every GTA game extensively and I have NEVER thought hey i'm gonna go shoot people...GTA keeps me from doing it in real life!

I don't have time for video games.

Haven't played my Xbox for at least 6 months. Play games on my phone but that's about it anymore.

they're still 7 and 1...they've still won games when cutler has been beat on all game. excuses are like a-holes :)

not saying the bears are a superbowl caliber team, but the o-line has been a sore subject for the last 10 years at least. for once, they have a few weapons to utilize on offense, but when your qb has 1 second to get rid of the ball, it doesn't work so well. the bottom line is they put up 51 points today and had 3 opportunities in the red zone that ended in field goals. if cutler had a few more seconds in the back field it could have easily been 64-20.

oh and today indy only beat a 4-4 team by 3 points and they only beat tennessee by 6...just sayin

***edit...i should also add, that i actually like the colts. i would have no problem with them going all the way...but i don't see that happening.

I've never had a video gaming thingy. When I grew up we were outside getting dirty, breaking chit, & generally causing trouble. That's the way kid's should be raised, no cooped up in their room all day & night playing video games.

Sold my Xbox over a year ago and don't miss it but might be buying one for my son for Xmas/bday since there are lots of educational games now with that connect thing and ill be able to take advantage of netflex.

Driven/test driven more than I can remember.
Yeah...I know all about that.

Not a 3/4 ton towing machine, but it will work for what I need. It was cheap too :D
NICE!

I have picked up on this about you...

Video games don't change kids. Music doesn't change kids. Movies don't change kids. If the kid is effed up in the head, that's how it is. I'm sure there is something that happened early in life for them to get that way that wasn't their fault or "pre-programmed". Like shitty parents. The difference I have noticed personally in my life, the more involved a parent is in their kid's life in a non-invasive way, the more likely they will turn out well. My folks kept their head in my game and influenced me while keeping their distance and I feel like I've turned out pretty well. Other people I know seem to have had horrible relationships with their parents and they became statistics as a result.

Sure is an interesting little Jeep Club.

Where else would you be peaked enough to look up linseed oil and discover that is is good for more than coating cutting boards.
I already knew it was supposedly a fire hazard but it was one of those "ehhhh that is bullshit, probably put it on there for liability reasons, no way it'd ever happen" type of things. I never took it seriously. Good to know that it actually does happen!

Thanks for answering that in your thread. I read your response and found his thread so I've copied it over there as well, I'm going to have to do a bit of thinking on this one.

Most of the BOD votes I've cast in the past have been very easy choices, because there were either few qualified candidates, or few serious candidates, or both.

Bingo!!!! There has never been any connection between violent video games and real life violence. There is, however a lot of evidence that the lack of family structure, parenting and the lack of parenting does cause problems like these. Modern Warfare 3 broke every video game record. I saw the lines at every game stop waiting for a copy at midnight. If there was a direct link between playing these games and crime, our crime rate would be up 100,000,000%

Bought an xbox 360 last black friday and have played it maybe 10 times, haha. What a waste of money on my part...
