Difference being you had adults and positive role models in your life who gave a crap to teach you good values.

Then again you are the post whore :gee:

I've never had a video gaming thingy. When I grew up we were outside getting dirty, breaking chit, & generally causing trouble. That's the way kid's should be raised, no cooped up in their room all day & night playing video games.

When I was 12 or 13 we got the original nintendo after it had been out a while and the 64 was coming out...my parents made us sign a contract on when we would use it and that it wouldn't interfere with homework.

We only ever had a couple of games for it...got too busy being teenagers and barely used it.

Bingo!!!! There has never been any connection between violent video games and real life violence. There is, however a lot of evidence that the lack of family structure, parenting and the lack of parenting does cause problems like these. Modern Warfare 3 broke every video game record. I saw the lines at every game stop waiting for a copy at midnight. If there was a direct link between playing these games and crime, our crime rate would be up 100,000,000%
Every time you post about stuff like this I find myself agreeing with you. Why aren't you running for President? :wantyou:

something tells me he wouldnt be popular with welfare recipients.......theyre all already voting for obama

short"hope i live long enough to see this referred to as the stupid ages"xjdoug

none of the candidates from either party really want to solve the problem because it means less bribing the voting blocs with the treasury.

On the plus side, quantitative easement means I'll be able to skip lunch and pay my student loans off instead in a few years.

Cuz Mac wants it and I'm smart enough to know better. :D

I was the president of the IC for three years, took two years off and for some stupid reason I decided I hadn't had enough and went for it again.

The last time I made it clear that the only reason I was running was to save the chapter from disbanding because no one else would stand up. I also made it pretty clear that if I ran I would be putting a minimum effort into it. There would only be quarterly runs and other major cuts. Even publicly staying this before I was elected a lot of people I considered my friends stabbed me in the back, turned on me and pretty much told me what a shitty job I was doing. I took it much too personally, lashed out, got in trouble, eventually it got bad enough they tried to kick me out of the chapter (which backfired on them pretty bad)

It really upset me and through the wisdom of my wife she made me realize it just wasn't worth it. So I stepped back and decided I was just going to enjoy naxja as a member.

I wouldn't want to take the target painted on my back and magnify that by ten running the whole place. That and I honestly don't have time. I ran against lobster boy the first time he won and just as Arron is finding out now, had a few members seriously try and derail my chances by bringing some really personal issues into the election that really had no bearing on how I would run the show.

It was only a couple months after that that we ran into issues with our tax filing and Johnny stepped up and got it handled. It was then I realized I didn't want that kind of burden. After years of organizing runs, putting on two very successful Fall Flings and feeling like I always had to be in charge of everything every time I went wheeling I was tired and I just wanted to go wheeling with my buddies. Wheeling had turned into a job and I wasn't having any fun doing it any more.

I've sat on the national BOD as a director. I actually thought about running this time. I just couldn't bring myself to do it. I'd rather let the new guys take a crack at it. That's one reason I will vote for Mac and Arron. Although Matt is serving as a director now I think a fresh leader will be good for the club. As much as I respect Goatman I hope Aaron wins just for a fresh perspective. I know Goatman can do a totally respectable job but new ideas and vision are healthy too.

I was actually talking about POTUS, not NAXJA Prez :spin1:

A lot of the things I've seen you post that I agree with have little bearing on NAXJA, but a lot to do with the economical and political problems we face.

I'm not running because 1) pretty sure no one would vote for me 2) I know I don't have the time or responsibility and 3) I don't have what it takes to watch people monday morning quarterbacking in the members forum without coming out with all my verbal guns blazing. I'm just not fit for it, I know it, and as far as I can tell so does everyone else.

Thinking about selling my Springfield XD45. Only shot like 200 rounds through it. Just thinking about something else. Love the gun though!

If anyone is close enough and interested let me know via PM.

Anyone shooting a Ruger GP100? I was looking at a 357 mag and it was pretty nice.

I would be interested & will be out that way for annual super bowl party. Don't know if your willing to wait that long. I do have a 357 mag, but would like to keep it. Pm me if you are willing to wait.

Not really wanting to wait for anyone who might be interested. But on another note, I am not trying real hard to sell it other then for the most part word of mouth.

After gun season we should have a NAXJA meetup at mcmiller. I have a few big bore handguns that are entertaining, and can outshoot some rifles at the 300 yard range ;)

454 would also work.

Rev

I had a 454 in a 79 GMC short bed step side pick up.
I put 396 high compression heads on it and 5:38 gears, I was wanting to put 44" tires on it, but never had the money.
It had 33" on it and it would absolutely smoke, literally and figuratively, any thing!
The IROC Z-28s were new back then, it would eat them up.
Talk about a sleeper!
One night I did an all wheel drive burn out that was comparable to Mac's, but with out being hooked up to anything. It just sat there and bounced up and down for a while then it hooked up and left two huge black lines about 60 feet long on the pavement.
Too bad, or thank God, there was no phone cameras and internet back then....
Gas was $0.75 and a good used set of 33" tires could be had for less than $100.00. The good old days!

Pretty sure i just ate an entire bag of Cheetos puff corn. i have been eating it for a while and cant remember if im the one who opened it. but there is too little to close the bag up now so i have to finish it. now my keyboard is all cheesy cause i didn't lick my fingers first. whats protocol on licking my keyboard?
