I carry a .45. I shoot .30-06 once a month at the range out of 2 different rifles and .30 carbine when I take it with me.

The only problem I have with my 10/22 is the time it takes to reload the damn magazines.

It's still a ton more fun to shoot my garand than it is my 10/22. Garand matches are about 15 bucks of ammunition.

You need to find a 10/22 mag loader. Literally, dump a box of rounds in, shake it to align them, slide in the mag, and start punching the plunger, one round per. I could load a 50 rd mag almost as fast as it could be unloaded.

Hence the reason mine reloads his own magazines...
I load 3 for him and he burns thru them faster than I can load.
He shoots ALOT slower knowing he has to load his own.

The problem with this particular gun is an extremely stiff spring in the mag. His little fingers aren't quite up to it. Hell it hurts my fingers. Anything else he shoots he loads his own though.
