When you were trying to start it did you try and put the pedal to the floor to see if it would fire?
Yea i pushed it to the floor and when it still wouldn't start after a lil bit i pumped the gas pedal and still nothing.

Put a coil on it and drive it...
mac 'keep one in the glovebox' gyvr
I call that a poor man's tune up & it has worked many times to get people by for a while. It sounds like it's getting some spark but no where near enough. I would suspect the coil, but popping off the distributor cap and looking at all the points can't hurt. They'll likely have some corrosion on them. Use a little bit of sandpaper to knock that off and clean up the points and the contact on the rotor, just may be enough of a fix to get you by until you put a new cap and rotor on it.
I got bored this morning before work and started playing with the sheet of kydex I picked up. I bent this up and am planning on mounting it to the little area of the center counsel under the dash and next to my tcase lever. It is a lot better then letting it sit in my center counsel or under the seatbelt in my crossbreed while driving..

Anyone around crawfordsville Indiana?
Found out I have a shed out behind my shop... Opened it this morning to find a bunch of Small engines, and steel!
These are some big boy engines too, 10-18 h.p. (Compared to the 3.5-6.5 blocks I have in the shop). I wonder what we could do with some of these...
P.S. Cherokee runs like a champ now... Still can't believe I missed that...
GoSlowGetStuck and Hubs97XJ(I think)
On an unrelated note. It sure is a pain in the ass to take someone else's kid to the Badlands. My 17 year old cousin is going with me this weekend and we have to have his dad fill out a form then have it notarized so he can go. Guess they gotta cover their bases though.
my cap and rotor is what was bad on my jeep. running now
are they vertical or horizontal shaft??? you could make a class project and build me a mud motor with that steel and one of those motors
here is one in a series showing what they look like:
