Important

Started work at the Marina officially this week. I've already been put in charge of a bottom painting on the hull of a 35 foot $60,000 Regal Cruiser. The head tech. said that the regal is probably one of the cheaper boats I'll be working on this summer. Yikes!

king crab legs & long islands, don't get better that, thanks mommy

In 1993, I had the opportunity to see some bits of the final assembly of one of the most expensive sailboats on the Great Lakes (in Charlevoix, MI.) A cut-down Santa Cruz 70, with parts coming in from Japan to Russia. The boat yard came out to the factory where I was working to borrow a torque wrench..... 600+ ft./lbs. on the keel bolts, and they didn't have a wrench that would come anywhere close. Even just sitting in the cradles, before it was splashed for the first time, this boat just screamed SPEED. This boat was built to win 2 races, Chicago-Mac and Port Huron-Mac.

IIRC, after the initial measurements, the proposed PHRF handicap was a -8.

You might get the opportunity to see some incredible boats. Be forewarned that a lot of the owners can be incredible dirtbags as well. Keep your eyes open.

Oh trust me I know how these boaters can get. I've worked at the bar that the boaters go to. And when then get their $300 bar tab they aren't happy. I can only imagine how they get when we're charging them $95 - $135 an hour in labor and around a 70% markup on parts

And today we had to pull a 45' houseboat that was getting an entire new gelcoat ($15,000 paint job), we used my Dodge to pull it out of the shot. That thing squatted my pickup more than anything else i've seen. I'll see if I can snap a pic tomorrow, the boat had to weigh over 25,000 lbs with the trailer.

Just ordered a new laptop, hope i can get all the music off my half tanked desktop. 9000+ songs on it!

Any MWC'ers crazy enough to make the drive, I'll buy your pizza, too! I'm starting to formulate an idea for a little wheeling/pizza send off for the McIntires if they can make the time.

Aww thanks Eric sorry its been crazy busy around here, Rob and I were talking about coming up to visit before we move in June just trying to find a free weekend since soccer has started up. I am always game for some hometown pizza and good company. I can't leave KY without seeing my Maggie ;)

On the house the bonus is that it has a inground pool woohoo
