Important

So, someone named Rachelle signed up on a mortgage website quote thingy, but the dumb b!tch put down my cell number.

thanks you stupid wh0re, now I have to try and convince mortgage broker sharks that they have the wrong number all morning.

how hard is it to make sure that you put the right number in for something as important as a mortgage?

I managed to get her email from one of the messages. I've started out polite, we'll see what her response is and go from there.

at least it isn't debt collectors. Those XXXXers are relentless.

Every few weeks I get a bunch of automated calls, and no amount of telling them I am not the person they are looking for will satisfy them. I also constantly get court summons taped to the door of the shitty apartment I am living in (while I fix the house up) for like the last 3 tenants, who apparently all had no problem using their credit cards but some sort of problem paying them back.

The calls will continue for months, and months, and months....

yeah because now I have a "business relationship" with them.

I dealt with that last year. Some guy named Ryan was about to have his car repoed.

I finally told that guy if they didn't stop calling me I was going to forward all of my notes and his information to the Ohio Attorney General's office.

magically the calls stopped.

Well I returned to Wisconsin last night. Found none of this cold you guys speak of.

I am also now magically tan, and there isn't enough snow.

Probably will be missing out on snowmobiling this season as I would have to run to Ashland to get it, and I now have a month to get the Jeep together for WF. With a job, school, and drinking on occasion; I don't think I have time for it.

Also: two days old, but I did manage to get the Packer game in another country. They still look very sketchy to me, even though they are making the big dance.

I don't understand why when the wind blows on my skin it feels colder but if it blows on an engine that big chunk of steel doesn't get colder?
All I know is that if I park my truck so the wind DOES NOT blow into the radiator/engine compartment it seems to start easier. is there something to it or is it just my imagination?

Probably just your imagination.

Nothing actually gets colder than the air cooling it. We just feel a lower apparent temperature because of the wind. If you think about it, it makes sense, even if you freeze to death and turn into a meat popsicle you are still at the same temperature as the air around you.

Well........ a lot of wind chill effect should probably be claimed by evaporative cooling. Anything that a liquid (or a solid through sublimation,) changes to a gas form, a ton of heat is absorbed during the phase change, aka heat of vaporization. For a perfect example, look at a sling psychrometer, used for taking relative humidity measurements. It's got 2 thermometers, and one bulb is encased in a sock that's soaked in water immediately prior to measurement. The instrument is then whirled to find both dry bulb and wet bulb temperatures.

As far as non-human surfaces go, I doubt that any of them are truly dry. A major difference is that your skin is maintained in a damp condition, whereas your truck surfaces aren't.

:confused::confused:

Confused, but its ok ill just sit here and look pretty

been down that route many times... I84 in NY going east is where my M54A2 broke down on the way home from buying it.

air compressor belt blew off, shredded the main belts (for WP, fan, alt), engine overheated for 10-20 miles and blew half the coolant out the overflow. A few hours of driving and buying belts and coolant later and it was driving again, made it home and another few hundred miles before the head gasket blew.

He drove his stock cherokee with a tow bar out there so at least he has something to run around in to get parts...

Well, that's good news at least.

I had a friend of mine following me home in my Comanche with my full tool set. The only reason it was as bad as it was is because of him though, he saw the chunks of belt flying everywhere and thought it was a tire about to delaminate, but for some reason (he's not the brightest) decided to ignore it unless I pulled over. My temp gauge wasn't working so I didn't realize till the air horn and brakes stopped working, at which point I noticed my alternator wasn't charging the batteries either and pulled over to investigate.

At least it made it home, that would have been a very very expensive tow.
